One of my favorite tunes of all time and a tribute to the best frigging Captain in the history of professional sports. What became inevitable on June 7th, 1997 won’t actually occur for 48 more hours. But you just know tonite’s all about 19.
So let’s Live Blog this bitch, eh?
I’m betting HNIC will show most, if not all, of this…
Former Detroit Red Wings captain Steve Yzerman, ex-Wings Brett Hull and Luc Robitaille, Brian Leetch and Lou Lamoriello will be honored tonight during a pregame ceremony at Air Canada Centre.
The five will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday night.
The festivities will push back the start of the Wings-Leafs game by 20 minutes, for a 7:28 puck drop.

With Lidstrom’s six Norris trophies, it’s hard to think of how impressive Leetch’s two are as well.

Looks like pretty good sightlines there in the ACC, eh?
Awesome ceremony and one of the very rare times I was sad to see ESPN360 picked up the FSD feed; I know CBC had to have done it perfectly. Always good to hear Mick though.
Lot of Wings fans there, moreso than normal it seems. I hate how they invade the Joe, but that’s just logistics with so many being not far over the river. I hope to hear these Wing fans tonight and pay them back properly.
