A Day Off

It’s a Family Day in the Iwo household.  There will be no discussion of hockey and I’m sure I won’t think about it.

Before I go…the Wings won 41 of 61 faceoffs.  Draper was 17 and frigging 2.

Still…think back to yesterday’s game and think of one time you were happy with the way the Wings controlled the puck.  Compared to their previous seven playoff games prior to Game 4 of this series, that’s what’s missing.

A lethargic Wing team yesterday and really bad games from two important guys: Holmstrom and Chelios.

A few other happy notes.

—Zetterberg’s hurting. I haven’t seen any Digger reports this morning so I don’t know if anyone’s confirmed that, but we all saw it yesterday.

—Lidstrom needs to step up, if he has it in him.  Personally, I don’t think he brings that to the table.  Someone needs to remind these guys how they were playing up until two games ago, and what kind of opportunity they’ll be missing if they blow this.

—If Franzen doesn’t play Monday or, puke in my shoes, Wednesday; it’s not just headaches or migraines, or post concussion syndrome.

—The way you’re feeling today, the sick, kick in the nuts, don’t talk to me about anything because I’m not in the mood type of thing you’ve got going on?  It’s no different than the way you felt after Bubba Jr. had tied us at 2-2.

I’m off to an air show.  Not gonna think about hockey.  Not at all.

Really.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
