A muddy track deepinthehearta. Sloggy and slushy. Haze frigging gray and underway. As it should be.
Wings win tonite? Game, set, series. Wings lose? Start shoveling coal because we’ve got ourselves a Stress Train Special.
It’s a Game 3 Live Blog. Commence your conversations. The only mandate is juvenilicity. I’ll join you when they drop the puck.
Updated 1940 EST: Wanna guess who said this?
“We don’t think much of them on a personal, character level. We think that’s to our advantage.”
Yep. Turco.

Nice chance by Cleary there—at least the #2 unit showing some life

Jesus. See the trailers on the Stars girls? Everything’s bigger in Texas. Especially the asses. Ooops. My wife just reminded me she’s from texas. Dammit.

Woops. Ribeiro. Eat it. Bitch.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 05/12/08 at 07:48 PM ET
A little chippy at the end of the period.
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 05/12/08 at 07:48 PM ET
so Morrow comes in and throws an elbow…no call. Maltby throws a clean check…and it’s a penalty.
holy inconsistent officiating Batman!
Posted by PaulinMiamiBeach on 05/12/08 at 07:49 PM ET
Well, early storm weathered. If it weren’t for some bad icing and a bad icing call, it’d be 2-0. Stars start the second with a full two-minute PP, though. Thanks Gary. Ass.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor on 05/12/08 at 07:49 PM ET
Me too Chief, though I hate to admit it. But my ass is ok. Hope you aren’t sleeping on the couch tonight.
Posted by WingBitch on 05/12/08 at 07:50 PM ET
Chief—everything is bigger in Texas ,, asses maybe—but generally girls lungs are bigger too;
just saying

Umm…yeah…“lungs”...sure we’ll go with that.
Posted by WingBitch on 05/12/08 at 07:52 PM ET
Engblom—Stars best first period in this series—yeah and they are still losing!!!!
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 05/12/08 at 07:53 PM ET
How do they not notice Morrow holding Lebda’s stick? did you guys see that?
Posted by Osrt on 05/12/08 at 07:53 PM ET
Morrow should get the primary assist on that goal, since he was the one who decided to take a nap on Lebda’s stick while the goal was scored.
Posted by scheisskopf on 05/12/08 at 07:54 PM ET
SHOTS ON GOAL
1st T
Detroit 7 7
Dallas 7 7

Here’s something for between periods viewing pleasure for all the Stars fans lurking here…just cuz I know a stand up guy like Ribeiro would never dive…

Dios mio! Has Pavs been taking English lessons again?!?
I swear, it improves every time I hear him, but that was GREAT. His English really is good…
WTSN commentators taking Homer over Ciccarelli in the contest of crease-crashers…of course, Dino taught Homer a thing or two in his early days.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor on 05/12/08 at 07:54 PM ET
How do they not notice Morrow holding Lebda’s stick?
It never happened. Move along.
Nothing here…oh look a goal!!!
Posted by Rumbear from Top O da Hasek, sippin rum & catchin some rays on 05/12/08 at 07:54 PM ET
Wingbitch: You’d be shocked at how quickly I recovered from that misstep.
Okie: confirmed.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 05/12/08 at 07:54 PM ET
Turco allow 2 goals on 7 shots—mmmm math says like 0.72 save %
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 05/12/08 at 07:55 PM ET
Wings have got to take care of business and end this series quick.
Posted by Dave on 05/12/08 at 07:56 PM ET
Hysterical video tpic! Performance like that, he oughta be playing soccer.
Posted by WingBitch on 05/12/08 at 07:57 PM ET
Every time they show the replay of Morrow holding and then laying on Lebda’s stick it chafes my arse.
Especially considering the pass went through an area that Lebda would have most likely moved to in coverage.
Posted by moocat on 05/12/08 at 07:57 PM ET
Then again, McKenzie took Roy for the next Dive coach…maybe they’re just idiots.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor on 05/12/08 at 07:57 PM ET
Am i the only one to see Homer go off early? Malts took his last shift in the 1st…..
Posted by MOWingsFan19 from KC MO on 05/12/08 at 07:58 PM ET
I love lungs, my sometimes second favorite tissue.
Know what sport I like: Motorboating.
just sayin
Posted by Osrt on 05/12/08 at 07:58 PM ET
I know, lets get a shorty on the Stars PP—that’ll end this series!!!
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 05/12/08 at 07:59 PM ET
I noticed him on the bench the last two minutes Mo. Did he head to the room early?
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 05/12/08 at 07:59 PM ET
Dats was on TSN… they don’t provide much analysis for the games these days though, not much to say except Dallas has to find a way to overcome the Wings defence, and offence, and goalie, and…
Posted by VooX from Behind the Bar in the Hasek Club Car on 05/12/08 at 07:59 PM ET
Dats on an interview? where?
TSN coverage, Osrt. NASN picked up their feed instead of Vs. If you’re on the east side of MI and can pick it up from Canada, that short interview made it worth the inane babble.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor on 05/12/08 at 07:59 PM ET
MO, I hope you’re seeing things….I didn’t notice that.
Maybe just a precautionary, get some ice quicker, type of thing?

Here’s something for between periods viewing pleasure for all the Stars fans lurking here…
Assuming Stars fans can read - and operate a computer… Just sayin’.

tpic - that video was AWESOME.

I’m on the East side but don’t get TSN. CBC since I was a kid though!
Posted by Osrt on 05/12/08 at 08:01 PM ET
Lucky bastards—im stuck with VS.
I’d listen to the Ken Kal on the radio feed online, but it is way out of sync with the HD
At least the Video is awesome
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 05/12/08 at 08:02 PM ET
How can they be so oblivious to all of the obvious penalties that Homer draws?
Homer doesn’t draw penalties. Little known subrule is that you can do whatever you want to Swedes, they don’t count.
Posted by Clark on 05/12/08 at 08:02 PM ET
Osrt - Considering the slashes he took it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s exactly what happened.
Posted by moocat on 05/12/08 at 08:02 PM ET
Iwo he took the last face off on the left wing and didn’t see anything happen per say but he was slower than usual on the way to the bench and Malts doesn’t EVER roll over the boards with D n Z. Ya know?
And then Malts makes a run on Norstrom…. hence the PP for Dallas.
Gotta run geta beer and back to the tube.

and operate a computer… Just sayin’
Lilja4ever, I HAVE noticed that as we’re tearing into the Stars, the ones leaping to their defense are…Dive fans. Not a Stars fan to be seen.
Morrow should get the primary assist on that goal
Scheisskopf, Pang just said the same thing on TSN, as they showed the replay. Blind refs…
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor on 05/12/08 at 08:04 PM ET
I freaking HATE VS. It’s painful to listen to those guys call a game. When I watched NHL Live earlier today they were talking to Dave Strader and they said he was calling the game tonight. Is he on TSN? Because at least Dave does a great job of coming across relatively unbiased.
Posted by Jennemy of the Skate from putting the b*tches in the box on 05/12/08 at 08:04 PM ET
ORST, there is no quickening the slush they mistake for ice in Texass.
Let’s hope Homers good to go.
