As Heard On Sirius Radio

I’ve got a secret for you.  I’m gonna tell you but you have to promise it won’t go any further than, you know, just us.

Ready? Here we go.

I’m one of those guys…those sports talk radio guys who call in and say stuff like, “ok…I’ll hang up and let you guys answer that one.  Hey great show. Seriously.  Man, yesterday when you were talking….CLICK”

I don’t call just any show. Oh no.  And I’ve gone in cycles, kinda.  Long time ago I was stationed in San Diego and Jim Rome was just starting out on local AM out there.  Used to call that show all the time. Hacksaw Hamilton too.  Was also a “5’10, 180” guy for a year or so on the Dan Patrick show.

But now?  It’s Hockey Night in Canada radio on Sirius.  I’m this guy, “Bill in DC.”  Creative, eh?

You’d recognize most of what I comment on, since I’ve probably already written about it here.  Today’s subject was, naturally, the deadline and Tick Tock (“Ken Holland” on there…I don’t think Jeff Marek and Craig Simpson know the glossary like you and I do).  Anyway, not much. I wasn’t given much time. Cut off actually, and that made me sad.

But this made up for it. Right after me?  “Steve from Boulder.”  And, hey, guess what? Steve’s a Wing fan, an MSU grad who was at the game last night.  And get this…he and some pals got to sit on the Dive bench and watch the pre-game skate. Now, stay with me. Steve?  He’s bilingual (that means he speaks more than one language, RWBill) and he said that while on the bench he heard two Dive players speaking his second language, which he didn’t identify so as not to give away the identities of the players.

Steve says that the Dive players said two things:  that they were disappointed that their organ-i-zation did nothing to improve, and that it was amazing but the Wings didn’t need to improve at all.

And then Steve hung up to, you know, let Jeff and Craig discuss that….because that’s what the veteran callers, like Steve and I, do.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
