Last week we liveblogged the swill that is Detroit sports radio. For four hours the A2Y staffers sat on the edges of their seats, pens at the ready, prepared to transcribe whatever lively Wing banter crossed those majestic airwaves.
Nada.
Earlier today, I directed you to the Wayne Fontes Experience, a site that has no problem pointing out the inadequacies of the Detroit MSM.
Now? Interesting.
Hoser, an esteemed A2Y reader, forwarded me a little ditty this morning.
Pat Caputo’s chimed in and is wondering aloud why so much attention is focused on a team that has only brought our state decades of humiliation...especially when there are at least two others that are, you know, umm, kicking ass?
Maybe it’s because the NFL is so huge in this country that it encompasses all to the point where we just can’t ignore the local franchise. Perhaps it’s because the Lions are embedded in our culture like a nasty habit we just can’t shake.
I do know this: The Red Wings and Pistons have earned our undivided attention. Seems odd that, lately anyway, we haven’t been giving it to them.
But another factor that separates those two franchises from the Lions is they eventually demand it with their performance. They are too good to be dismissed.
Ok. Got it. Glad we agree. We’ll see if you’re one of the few who come around Pat.
I love how he closed it.
