It’s hard to watch the game with all these Versus verbal oddities. I swear I heard the play-by-play guy call Lidstrom “Lindstrom” and I’ve had a hard time concentrating on the game ever since.

Don’t worry about it, cementslinger - we all make typos on the internet!  I’m just in a contrary mood because I have to bake an oreo cake for work as soon as the game is over and I thought I had another day to get it done. wink

Sweet goal from Zetterberg.

We’re going to see just how tough Aaron Downey is tonite.  When he fights Brashear, if he even comes close to a draw, he’s going to reach hometown hero status.

Great movement on the PP. It looked like a 5 on 2.

Did you see Downey on the bench after that hit by Brashear? He looked like he was ready to go. I say it will happen in the third

Yeah, Brashear’s got a couple weight classes on Downey, but if Aaron’s smart about it….

He’ll get credit for even challenging the guy.

Posted by HockeyTownTodd on 12/17/07 at 08:39 PM ET

Lilja’s been solid lately. So much so that Mikael “The Streak” Samuelsson is now the most doghouse-worthy Wing.

A better period for the Wings, but like Iwo said, the Caps are better than advertised. Or at least better than their record indicates. I guess they’ve been getting better every night since the coaching change, but I wasn’t expecting this.

they look like a different team than the one I saw a few weeks ago live.  more energy and much better in their own end.

Thank the gods they aren’t doing a Dallas game - all the Finns would make them strangle on their own tongues if they can’t even manage “Nick Lidstrom.”

Or Toronto - Alexei Ponikarovsky!

Yeah, there are very few situations in which a full blown mullet would be an improvement, but this definitely qualifies.

If I didn’t know better, I would assume that his hair puffs up when the camera comes on…like an act of aggression.

And yes, I heard “Chris Lidstrom” as they were cutting away from the interview.  I hope I misheard.

Ugh.  It’s bad enough seeing this Beninati guy on all the Capitals broadcasts, but now he’s infecting my Red Wings games.  He can’t seem to say anything without using a metaphor.

I’m just glad that his play-by-play man from the Caps games, Craig Laughlin, isn’t with him…he’s even more irritating…
