Google News Alerts Can Suck It . Happy New Years.

That’s right Google. You can take your little one-sentence alerts and you can suck on them the rest of the evening , and for the next six months really. All they do is frustrate me just like Sh——- C———did in high school when she drew the whole damn periodic table on her thigh but wouldn’t let me look at it. Not during the exam and certainly not afterward. She was the Google News Alert of high school teases.
Upper body injury grounds Red Wings’ Patrick Eaves
Detroit Free Press
By GEORGE SIPPLE Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Eaves, coming off his first career hat trick, will miss tonight’s game against the New York Islanders ...
And…I have no idea what’s after that. All I know is that Jesus potted three, got a bunch of Skoal hats in Dallas and then injured himself genuflecting afterward, or so I assume. Wednesday was worse. ‘Member that Hank was hurting? Well, you knew more than I did.
“Red Wings’ Henrik Zetterberg questionable with sore back
Detroit Free Press
JAMES DALLAS—Detroit Red Wings forward Henrik Zetterberg left the morning skate here at American Airlines Center after experiencing tightening in his ...”
And that was it. See the cute little elipsis there? See how Google did that to me?
I understand that Gary and Gore have conspired to keep the internet away from me so I’ve been feasting on news alerts for at least a week now. Oh, I read your comments about Ozzie and I followed the Live Blogs. I read when Disco Stu stole the golden ticket right out of Buckets’ hands, ripped it up and then fed it to Bertuzzi like shit on a frigging shingle. I was with you.
Then last game-day , Google feeds me that alert about Hank and I threw a little tantrum right here on my office. Just a minor one, small and not even that loud. Just a silent fit of rage and two fingers pointed at the monitor, just like that picture of our hero Tick Tock that one of you geniuses posted a few years back.
And this about Ozzie before we get to the festivities: Congratulations to our home-grown line in the sand. You’re pro or anti-Osgood and that’s how it’s always been. 400 wins is huge and it’s a Hall of Fame number. He did it in Denver, in front of thousands of Wing fans and a few hundred Denver loyalists. If not the Joe, then the Ass Can is the perfect place for a Wing magic moment.
For all the shit I and 19 thousand of you have given the man, he’s our goalie. And he’s got three rings. Soon to be four. You can be dumb and you can say that he’s a product of a system, but when the chips were down he’d shut out Dallas after the Langenbrunner prison rape. Or he’d step in for a Czech maniac when no one expected he’d be needed. He’d fend off a furious rally by Gary’s favorite team and he’d laugh at the boos raining down on him as he hoisted the Cup in Pittsburgh.
So congrats, stay ready and on your next start (is it tonite? I…just…don’t…know)—just once—see what it’s like to give up less than 3. Right Gramps?
Oh, and the December that looked like ass for so long is looking a bit better now, eh? Even with baby Jesus up to his old tricks, laughing at you while you stress about injuries…the Dynasty lives on.
It’s a Live Blog bitches and one more Google News Alert for you as you celebrate a New Year’s a full 23 hours after I did.
Carl Vinson Strike Group arrives in Seventh Fleet
PACIFIC OCEAN - The Carl Vinson Strike Group arrived in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility Dec. 31 as part of a scheduled deployment. ...
Now it gets interesting.

End of year/holidays has been crazy stressful, but I had to pop in really quickly to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Hoping the bad from 2010 is left behind, the good is carried with you, and 2011 is a better year for all of us.
And don’t be idiots. Stay safe and get a cab if needed.

Happy New Year Chief and to all the 19. And congratulations Sweden, a 6-5 winner in OT.

And don’t be idiots.
That’s easy for you to say, and hard for me to do.
But all I’m operating tonight is a remote control, and a bottle of Jameson Reserve.
Sweetest words I heard all day were “90% chance of rain, and highs in the 50’s. Winter Classic rescheduled for 8 PM.”
What can I say, haters gonna hate.

A Happy,Healthy, and prosperous New Year to the 19. I just received the head cold from hell yesterday. Oh well. This will be the first NYE We haven’t had a party in 12 years,so I will be partying with my imaginary friends on the LB.
For anyone going to the Joe for a game. We allways park in the Greektown casino for free and just have to walk through the casino to the street and get on the Greektown bus that will shuttle you to and from the game. Just look for the blue crappy old bus on Monroe and after the game , out the door on the water side. Don’t forget to tip the driver. He is a pretty cool dude.
