/Don’t bother me please. I am carefully concocting the Penguin bait. Morrow on a skewer has been delivered and is rendering quite nicely.

That had to be the best game of Dallas Drake’s entire career.  THANK YOU for proving me entirely wrong throughout the regular season… keep em coming!

Drake.  Draper.  Dats.  Z.  Ozzie.  AWESOME.

Congrats Wings!!!  4!!!

WHAT?  ALL THAT, and Dallas Drake isn’t even one of the stars of the game?!?

Highway robbery.

At least Hrudey says that Osgood is the REASON we’re going to the Finals.  Not another ‘despite’ rationalization.

Let’s hope for good news on Drake and Fil.

well, they don’t start until Saturday, so everybody should be able to recover from their bang-ups.  Franzen?  kill a cat.  every day.  two on Friday.

Nice to see more good karma for us being heaped upon by Bubba Sr.‘s fans as they chanted, “Let’s Go Pens!” during the trophy presentation.

Thanks - we’ll take it!

Outstanding effort tonight by all.

Pending finals craziness, there’s easily a 75% chance that a European skates off with the Conn Smythe.  My money’s on Zetterberg

After Lidstrom refused to even look at the Campbell Trophy, in the middle of an interview with Draper, CBC cut to a shot of Zetterberg walking to the dressing room alone, making it look like he left the ice early.  Is he hurting?

Drake and Robidas spent all series running each other, so I was curious to see their handshake, but it was never on screen.  Did anyone catch it on some other feed (or live)?

best thing about tonight, IMO, is the Wings figuring out what it takes to win.  I was going to be worried if they breezed through Dallas.  I’m sure we all remember 1995.

Can’t wait to hear the five days worth of prognosticators talking about how the Wings will have to take fewer penalties if they’re going to beat the Penguins, completely overlooking the fact that the refs started a one way path to Detroit’s box on a bunch of chintzy crap after the wings went up 3-0.

I am so happy to see us in the STANLEY CUP FINALS!!

Some fine Caribbean Rum to mark the occaision.

We have depth for the future and this playoff run.  I am proud of our team and the loyal fans on the internet.  Our future is bright tomorrow and next year.  Bring on the Penguins, a superbly talented team.  They are about to encounter elite defence and opportunistic offense the likes of which does not exist in the Eastern Conference.

Go Wings FOUR MORE put it the jersey up…  As the A2Y 19 some of us will be riding on the Train with special guest Czech variety act for entertainment.

We will be going deep in to Pens blog territory… think early Dive fans, clinging to the hype without realizing their run is for a couple of years before salary demands dismantle their team.  We have to spank the bloggers killing delusional hype junkies before the virus spreads like in Denver.

LET’S GO RED WINGS!!

I love hearing the Versus idiots talk about how the Wings are going to need Franzen…because Pittsburgh has too much firepower.

after tonight, Zetterberg leads Crosby’s 21 points (4g 17a) with 23 of his own (12g 11a).

Datsyuk passes Malkin and Hossa’s 19 (9g 10a), and ties Crosby’s 21 with 21 of his own (10g 11a).

after that it’s Franzen, Malone, Hudler, Kronwall, Gonchar, Holmstrom, Rafalski to round out the first page of stats.

remind me again who has the firepower advantage?

and, uh, Zetterberg is +15, Datsyuk is +12 (not counting tonight even) while Crosby, Malkin and Hossa are +6, +5, and +7.

The thing that makes me most confident against the Pens is our defense. We begin our defense at the red line at the latest.

But we shall see…

Now that’s how you put a stamp on a series.  The boys got back to what they do best, crash the net, get in Turk’s grill (Drapes’ grill too) and take the crowd out early.  7 to 2 on Power Plays for Dallas?  Hmmm, a little suspect to me, but I won’t go there, we all know that was going to happen.  Great to see the scoring balance back tonight.  Now we have 5 count ‘em, 5 days to rest, get Johan back and get ready to shut down the Pens and bring home the Cup!!!  Hope the boys really pay attention to the MSM the rest of this week.  Should be full of bulletin board material since we all know the media is going to be tongue-deep in the Penguins’ asses praising them for how good they are.  The boys will take note, then take it out on the ice.  LET’S GO WINGS, NEXT STEP, CUP NUMBER 11!!!!!

keep in mind paul, that the pens played less games than we did. so it would make sense that they scored less goals.

not to say that we’re not better than them, just saying.

i bet dan cleary would own gary roberts in an intimidating stare match.

AHH… Nothing sends you into a beautiful slumber than the dulcet tones of agony from opposing goalies..

I think our boys look pretty good. The Junior High Diving Squad form the east hasn’t faced that moment of truth in these playoffs. Maybe if the Wings can take the first two at the Joe…..

I’m just sayin….

Future Defense - very telling comment by Babcock -

“I’m not sure our team isn’t better next year and maybe the year after. But with our young kids, the people we’re going to add on the blueline, we’re going to be a real good team for the next few years.”

first D good-bye, Lilja,  next, Cheli.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they do not offer Cheli a contract.  Make room for Meech, Ericsson, and wtf the dude that played well in last year’s playoffs ahhh I forget his name.  Sounds like Babs is ready to move the young guys up to keep getting this team younger.  I don’t disagree, get them experience by next year’s cup run.
