Heard This One Before? Datsyuk’s Got A “Minor” Injury

And how, you’re wondering, did it occur? Ready. Set. Vomit.
In addition to contributing two goals and one assist in Tuesday’s 5-4 victory at Vancouver, Datsyuk also prevented the Canucks from scoring.
“I have blocked shot,” he said today. “I’m surprised myself, too. Today, it’s hard to put on skates.”
According to people who lie professionally, AKA the Red Wing coaches and trainers, Datsyuk is, umm, good to go. Kinda like last year’s Finals, I guess.
Oh, and Jimmah’s starting tomorrow. Maltby and Home Keys will be healthy scratches.
And…speaking of the Finals? Uncle Mike’s got some humor for you. Gather the kids because this is just plain funny.
“I told you that last year in the playoffs, when he got a shot in the foot, too, and it ended up being a hole in his thigh, so you can’t trust me one bit,’’ Babcock joked. “No, he got a shot in the foot and he should go. He just was sore today and it wasn’t going to be comfortable getting his skate on.’’
Ha ha. Mothefu**er’s got jokes.

Happy Birthday, Guilherme!
Oilers haven’t scored a goal in their last two games…. They looked awful against the Dive the other night.

Hector, get your fuching ingorant ass to Arlington National Cemetery. Spend the day there walking around. Listen to the families of the newly dead sobbing at the loss of their loved ones…and so on.
Great post! Where are serving, Iraq or Afghanistan?

Where are serving
What are things that Alexcutter says at thanksgiving dinner between fits of drooling?

Thanks, Alex. I am not serving, but unlike hector and lilja4mvp, I appreciate the hard work and sacrifice that our men and women in uniform make to protect us.

You see alex, only a true dumbass like yourself would ask that question. As if serving in the military somewhere other than Iraq or Afganistan has anything to do with anything. But heh, keep up the good work alex, I always enjoy posters like you who prove their ignorance without me having to ask.

In an attempt to lighten the mood, let’s keep this running joke going…

“Bimbos make me want to pretend to be a Zetter-man”—Neil Patrick Harris as Barney on “How I Met Your Mother”
...and yes, the fact that I found a pic of NPH with a troll was a wonderful surprise, given today’s comments.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled program.
Over on the main KK page, Paul links a Scott Burnside interview with Tick Tock:
Last season, the Wings scored a league-high 295 goals. For purposes of comparison, the league’s best regular-season team, San Jose, scored 38 fewer goals. If the Wings played 45 minutes of good hockey on most nights, it was good enough to win.
“We could outplay our mistakes,” Holland explained.
But with the departure of lineup regulars Marian Hossa, Mikael Samuelsson, Jiri Hudler, Chris Chelios and Tomas Kopecky, and the early loss of Johan Franzen to a left knee injury that required surgery, the Wings don’t have that luxury every night. When they play 45 minutes instead of 60 now, it usually costs them a point, maybe two, as their 4-4-2 record suggests.

I just wish the Wings had Dany Heatley. He’s going to score 70 goals, dontchaknow?

Anyone besides Williams remember this guy:....?
The Anaheim Ducks yesterday added veteran depth to their forward lines on Wednesday, signing former LA Kings winger Kyle Calder to a two-way contract.
Calder was immediately sent to the Ducks ECHL affiliate in Bakersfield but already there’s speculation he might be brought up in a couple of weeks which could result in a current Ducks forward losing his spot.
It remains to be seen how much help Calder can be to a struggling Ducks team. A former two-time 20-goal, 50-point performer with the Chicago Blackhawks earlier in the decade Calder’s offensive game has been in decline since the 2005-06 season.
In 2008-09 Calder had only 8 goals and 27 points with the LA Kings and became an unrestricted free agent this past summer.

Dats in tonight ...according to Helene St.James
With Datsyuk available, the top three lines are expected to stay the same:
Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom
Bertuzzi-Filppula-Cleary
Leino-Draper-Williams
And then the fourth line will be Helm with May and Eaves. Jimmy Howard is starting in net.
As much as I dislike tinkering with a line-up after a win…..
Kinda relieved that Helm replaces Gator.
