I’m tired. Tired of my wife kicking my butt in Wii bowling. To quote Appollo Creed, that’s very hard for a man of my intelligence to take. It is, however, what it is.
The solution? A Game 4 Live Blog set to yet another lyric from the greatest folk song of all time. A folk song that kicks the living hell, by the way, out of anything Bob Dylan ever did.

MULE with the hattrick and the RECORD!!
Posted by VooX from Behind the Bar in the Hasek Club Car on 05/01/08 at 10:39 PM ET
No kidding. “Why should you play for us? You get to do this.”
and, “Who, exactly do you think we should demote from the 2nd line? You’re gonna have to earn it.”
FRANZEN AGAIN!

Mule is definitely the early Conn Smythe favorite
Posted by BuzzFledderjohn on 05/01/08 at 10:40 PM ET
TSN compares them to the Globetrotters, just in time for Franzenstein to break Howe’s record.
This is comical.

That was a friggin’ clinic.
Posted by O’Long-apo~J’oe on 05/01/08 at 10:40 PM ET
Oh my…words fail. The Mule is in the midst of a ridiculous streak.
Posted by Dave on 05/01/08 at 10:40 PM ET
Just watching the dazed looks on the faces of the Dive Faithful; this game may go down some day as The Day Hockey Died In Denver…
So sad.

No kidding. “Why should you play for us? You get to do this.”
sort of markets itself doesn’t it?
Posted by VooX from Behind the Bar in the Hasek Club Car on 05/01/08 at 10:41 PM ET
VS has yet to use the word HATTRICK!
Thanks VS. Ass!
Posted by ScottH from Kalamazoo on 05/01/08 at 10:41 PM ET
Any mention of a Hat Trick?
Posted by Rumbear from Top O da Hasek, sippin rum & catchin some rays on 05/01/08 at 10:41 PM ET
I’m all about putting in Hasek in the third to save Ozzie..what are the chances?
Posted by scsgoal31 from Huntington Woods, MI on 05/01/08 at 10:41 PM ET
So is it time to put Hasek in just to get him some work?
Or is he now our version of 3/4?
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 05/01/08 at 10:42 PM ET
That power play looked like a practice. The Avs skates were planted firmly in place while they passed it around at will. Cleary deserves a goal; he’s been working his tail off on the checking line all playoffs long and he’s starting to get his form back.
Posted by J.J. from Kansas on 05/01/08 at 10:42 PM ET
is this the end for super joe? I hope not
Posted by yzer19man from Chicago on 05/01/08 at 10:42 PM ET
Yeah, the Hasek needs some Hasek in the third…
Posted by mudshark from Divetown, Colorado on 05/01/08 at 10:42 PM ET
No mercy.
Bury ‘em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dive fans! Are you ready!
The Fore!sberg Classic begins in just a few hours!
Hey, TeamDub, I was thinking…expanding on the Fore!sberg Classic theme…

I’d try, but my PhotoShop skills are lacking.

Hello from Sveden, Detroit Red Wings! Your hockey game look so fun, can we score too?
Posted by Matt from Chicago on 05/01/08 at 10:44 PM ET
Hasek?! It’s not like Ozzie’s tired. Leave em in. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. It’s Denver we are stealing this!!
Posted by Rumbear from Top O da Hasek, sippin rum & catchin some rays on 05/01/08 at 10:46 PM ET
7 goals and all scored by Swedes. How’s that looking for you, Fabian?
Posted by Hap from Grand Rapids, MI on 05/01/08 at 10:46 PM ET
Ya know, when I requested domination before the game I didn’t really think about total humiliation but…. I’m cool with that.
Posted by Mike from La-La Land on 05/01/08 at 10:46 PM ET
Matt that is just wrong. Time to go work on my putz.
Posted by RWBill from the Land of 12 in 12. on 05/01/08 at 10:47 PM ET
It’s gotta be because of today’s number, number 9.
Posted by BuzzFledderjohn on 05/01/08 at 10:47 PM ET
Hmmm… Making it kind of difficult for a homer arena scorer to justify putting one of the Dive in the top three stars tonight.
Posted by J.J. from Kansas on 05/01/08 at 10:47 PM ET
Hey…let’s all go to Jibble’s blog and say HI
Posted by Scott H from Kalamazoo on 05/01/08 at 10:48 PM ET
Ya, I hate to give Avs any chance of hope by putting in Hasek, but for the sake of protecting Oz from injury, it might not be a bad idea.
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 05/01/08 at 10:48 PM ET
Hey Fabian,
How do you say coup de grace in swedish?
Posted by HockeyTownTodd on 05/01/08 at 10:49 PM ET

You could give it to Theodore, for getting the hell outta there.

it would be fitting that Sakic’s last game of his career is a 7(?) goal drubbing by the Wings…just like Roy.
Posted by PaulinMiamiBeach on 05/01/08 at 10:51 PM ET
With the way our Captain went out, I have no problem with this being Sakic’s last.

One thing about humiliation like this.
Do the Dive come out trying to score 7 goals in 20 minutes, or take out as many Wings as they can? Get that, er, [s]Old Time[/s] Thug Hockey thing going - if only to give their, er, fans some happy during the long summer months.
Maybe Mac and Downey should’ve been in this game.

Mike Milbury: “There were serious doubts about this team [the Detroit Red Wings] going in to the playoffs, about their character.”
F#ck you, Milbury.

I think they come out and try to get as few whistles as possible so it’s over as quickly as it can be.
same for the Wings.
btw, how great would it be for Zetterberg to get HIS hat trick tonight, too?
Posted by PaulinMiamiBeach on 05/01/08 at 10:56 PM ET
Wonder what Grapes would think about that scoring line, well since there are no good Canadian boys in there.
Zett on his ass behind the back goal will be in the highlight reels till the end of time—in freaking credible

Coach Q has completely failed his team in this series. Looking past the injuries (which nobody can deny has made a difference) Q has:
- Failed to keep his team disciplined
- Failed to come up with a system that would even slow down the Wings
- Failed to make everybody, including his top stars accountable.
- Failed to motivate his team.
Now, back to the injuries. I still think the Wings take it in five against a healthy Dive team.
I’m calling this rivalry dead. Not because I don’t still hate the dive and their fans, but because the word “rivalry” carries a certain connotation of competetiveness that is sorely lacking in the Avs play/coaching.

Man! I’m having a hard time realizing there’s still 20 more minutes in this game!
No one gets hurt, K guys?
Play hard, play clean and keep your heads up.
No mercy. Bury ‘em!
Give us 60 mintues, boys. A full 60 minutes.
Stay sharp. We’re not yet half way to the cup. (Well almost half way. 8 more after 20 minutes.)
Posted by stonehands-78 from the beginning ... a WingsFan, on 05/01/08 at 10:58 PM ET
Knowing there’s still 20 more minutes to be played actually makes me pretty scared here…
