Christ, here we go again. Does anyone know if the Predators are actually playing an opponent today? You may want to let the announcers know.

Wild action in the opening minutes

I think they are just skating around in front of their incredible fans in their sold-out arena.
If I was sitting next to someone with one of those whistles, I’d insert it rudely in his rectum as soon as he stood up to get beer.

I don’t think I’m going to make it through a whole game of this…I’m going to need oxygen soon.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 04/20/08 at 02:28 PM ET
3rd and 4th liners appear to have the mojo today. Going to be the difference in the game—

I especially liked the Douche Canoe talking about the “Defensive pinching that’s really making the difference.” with 18:45 left in the first.
Little hint for ya Pierre. 3 shifts does not a pattern make. Douche.

Damn… I’m listening to WXYT and my heart is racing. *#$%@&! Why won’t any of the backdoor feeds work! AGH!

Someone needs to punch the head off 22 before it’s too late.
Posted by lilja4ever on 04/20/08 at 02:30 PM ET
Very rare to see an afternoon start as good as that.
Posted by Steve from New Jersey on 04/20/08 at 02:30 PM ET
Now way I’m making it through this game without sacrificing the pets

Wings appear—- I say appear, to be settling in
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 04/20/08 at 02:31 PM ET
If I read his lips right, it looks like Huds is learning english
Posted by scheisskopf on 04/20/08 at 02:32 PM ET
I keep looking for the “Douche” posters behind pierre.
Posted by wingsfanindenver on 04/20/08 at 02:33 PM ET
Drake and Stuart look primed for a nice physical game…
Although that’s apparently lost on the canoe.
Ass.

I love how all players cuss in English, no matter where they are from.

I just can’t believe they delayed the start of the game for golf. Like golf even approaches the excitement of hockey.

Tension—Tension— I like it when the Wings play in the NSH end better
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 04/20/08 at 02:35 PM ET
Sounds like the lines are…
ZDH
Fil-Mule-Sam
Huds-Drapes-Cleary
Drake-Helm-Mac
Is that right?
Posted by Pete K from Chicago, IL on 04/20/08 at 02:35 PM ET
Those freaking whistles are making my already understandably nervous dog a wreck.
So. Gay.
Posted by TeamDub from The gratch. on 04/20/08 at 02:35 PM ET
The people at WOOD need to throw the HD switch! Seems running their news crawl messed it up.
Posted by Brian on 04/20/08 at 02:36 PM ET
I think thats right Pete—what Ive seen anyway
D pairs same as game 5
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 04/20/08 at 02:36 PM ET
Please Wings…..score a goal so the Canoe will STFU!
Posted by Scott H on 04/20/08 at 02:37 PM ET
Where’s the traffic in front of the net? They keep shooting w.o anyone to pounce on rebounds or screen the goalie. No forcing Ellis to move laterally across his crease. They’re making this guy look like a hero, but really, they’re lobbing softballs at him. It’s really uncommon for an NHL goalie to be beat if they can set-up and see the puck.

Appears to be.
CBC not Nashville-bias - and the apparent bias might also just be in favor of a game seven, which won’t happen if Detroit wins.

DC—with Trotz—
Good chance by Lebda there
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 04/20/08 at 02:38 PM ET
Trotz is getting the Obama treatment from Pierre… “Is this comfortable enough for you?”
Posted by Steve from New Jersey on 04/20/08 at 02:38 PM ET

NBC is awful except for Emerick

Posted by IceBuddha from San Diego on 04/20/08 at 02:40 PM ET
WOW DET is really starting to play in the NSH end. Good portend
Be better to get a lead
LIdstrom—glorious chance
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 04/20/08 at 02:40 PM ET
Paul Woods mentions they’re rolling 4. ESPN TOI stats seems to confirm that. Excellent work Babcock. Sounds like the 4th liners are really bringing it.
Who’d a thunk, at the beginning of the season, that one of the Wings best playoff lines would consist of Dallas Drake, Darren Helm, and Darren McCarty?
Which gives me an idea for a name for this line. Triple D? 3D? D3? Something along those lines.
Posted by Pete K from Chicago, IL on 04/20/08 at 02:41 PM ET
You’re getting CBC Baroque? I wish I had CBC! Lots of people don’t like Don Cherry, but he’s definitely entertaining. And the announcing is great.
Posted by scheisskopf on 04/20/08 at 02:42 PM ET
DET is rolling 4, dont know about NSH
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 04/20/08 at 02:42 PM ET
of course that’s “Good Hard Hockey” when you slash the stick so hard that it get’s knocked out of his hand. F the Canoe. Douche
Posted by wingsfanindenver on 04/20/08 at 02:42 PM ET
Hey, DC, why was that uncalled slash on Tootoo a good call again? Ass.

nice play by Kronwal
Posted by utahgentile from the land of white and delightsome people on 04/20/08 at 02:44 PM ET
Hey, I was wondering, how’s Trotz as a coach? I don’t know anything about him- although I’m sure Douche Canoe and company will do their best to fix that.

I know - and as knowledgeable as Emerick is the sound of his voice is so irritating - like sand in your swimsuit.
