Oh, They’re Bitter Today In Blues Land

Of course they are.  Even if the Wings had won last night, essentially eliminating Bubba?  Blues fans would have found something to cry about, some reason to whip out the F-Detroit line.  As it is, with the Wing loss? The Blues still have the best possible scenario, their destiny in their own hands.

I’ve never wished a Wing loss, ever.  But I’ll tell you, knowing the angst that would follow a Bubba win...well, it made last night’s loss a bit more palatable.

Game Time...Where the bitches are bitter all the day long.

*#$%@& Detroit and *#$%@& everyone else. The Blues’ fate is still firmly in their own hands. Win and you’re in, no matter what else happens. As we like to say down in the rec leagues, it aint about the other team, it’s just about us.

You know what else goes hand in hand with this? The playoffs. It doesn’t matter what seed they fall in as long as they have a seed. San Jose? Who gives a shit? Cal and Gary? Fine. Detroit? *#$%@& Detroit.

The Blues need to know what we all now know: it’s up to them. Now and forever.

*#$%@& everyone. Go Blues.

Awwww. Cute. Blues fans against the world.  “Now and Forever”...didn’t Swayze sing that?

Alright...on to legitimate news.  Hossa appears to be ok.  Tick Tock’s pressuring the league for a Thursday start. So you know what that means, expect the Wings to open on Wednesday.
Khan(!)

Update from Friday’s practice: The Wings received good news on the Marian Hossa injury front, as an MRI revealed no torn muscle in his groin, which he injured during the second period of Thursday’s game. Hossa wanted to play in Sunday’s regular season finale in Chicago, but he’ll miss the last two games, including Saturday’s home game vs. the Blackhawks. Hossa and the club are hopeful that he’ll be ready for Game 1 of the playoffs.

“I’m pretty optimistic,’’ Hossa said. “I had some groin injuries before, but this one doesn’t seem like something that would bother me as much.’’

Seriously?  “now and forever”?

If that person were William Wallace yelling rally his troops, I have a feeling that the minute he turned to charge the English, his troops would immediately start doing a dismissive wanking motion until he was cut down by a hail of arrows, then leave the field disgusted that they ever followed such a poof.

Yeah, seriously, I am only partly unhappy they lost… as far as losing goes, it was pretty good, considering they played real well for 50 minutes, Ozzie was solid, and they got a point, and the BBBBs got hurt more by it than any other team, that makes me warm inside.

Why is this team deathly afraid putting the skate down?

Who gives a flying *#$%@& about sportsmanship. If you have the ability to beat a team by 7, 8, 9, 10 goals, you DO IT.

Hank said they “eased up.” Why the hell would they ease up against ANYONE? Kick the *#$%@& Bubba bastards right in the balls with a steel-toed boot when they’re down. Then kick them again, and again, and again, and again, and again until the final horn sounds.

These guys in Red and White need to stop treating the inferior teams like they’re pawns. They have to go at them like that idiot trash-talker in high school who finally gets his just desserts.

*#$%@&.

I am wondering what is up with Zet, the puck seems to be bouncing on him a lot and he isn’t finishing the way we need him to.  I thought Datsyuk had a strong game.  I also thougth Ozzie was very strong.  The energy seemed to leave the team once Hossa was injured (big relief that it isn’t serious).  I just don’t know why they will not put the skate down.

I knew Arnott was going to win it in the SO last night...it was just that kind of game.  Blech.

Hank said they “eased up.”

Yeah, I thought they did in the final two minutes of the match.  On the Preds’ tying goal to make it 3-3, there was no reason for that shot from the half-boards to even make it to Osgood which led to a rebound in front of Osgood tying the match.  Sorry, I love the man and I would build the franchise around him on any and every occasion but Lidstrom...c’mon.

If the game last night were a playoff game, NO WAY the Preds win in extended OT.

This loss crosses another line, going beyond, “Unacceptable” to, “The only people that didn’t see this coming played for the Red Wings tonight”

Malik has a point. You win as a team and lose as a team. The guys need to stop this unacceptable disappearing act with two minutes left to go in any period, and play like they are the team that is down by a goal.

As for Ozzie, the guys threw him under the bus last night. Bitches.

Lets go Red Wings!!!!!

I thought the loss last night was pretty disgusting.  What sucks is they’ve done this so many times this season, and it sucks every time.  I haven’t gotten used to it yet, seeing them play some good games and then going out and SUCKING.

I was perusing the standings this morning and I have a Quiz for everyone, especially those that want to face the Poultry in the first (and likely last) round of the playoffs.

1. Which playoff team has the worst record over the last ten games?

2. Which team has the second worst record over the last ten games?

3. Which team has the best record over the last ten games?
.
.
.
.
.
Answers:

1. The Flamingos, with 4-6-0, 8 points.
2. The Wings, with 5-4-1, 11 points
3. The Poultry, with 8-2-0, 16 points. Oh, and rugged, 30 min. per night defenceman Francois Beachemin is back in the lineup tonight against Dallas.

Wings fans it is time to root hard for the BBBs against the BJs and Dive, and for the Stars and ‘Yotes to play with some pride and beat the Poultry.

The Poultry would have to win both games and the BJs lose both games for the Poultry to move up a spot. Hopefully, the BBBs win out and the Poultry loses at least once, dripping to 8th.

Brahhh, sometime back in November, or December, or January, sometime before last night, I said how these guys - our guys - were nothing like the Isles or the Flyers of dynasties past.  Essentially they were everything you want in your post.  Every game against them was going to be a brutal ass-kicking even if you won.

This team isn’t like that certainly.  To keep from going crazy like Chief on a normal day, I am convincing myself that they have minced around all year in order to be physically sound and whole when the playoffs start.  Now Hoss-a has a nicked up groin and Lilja still has bleeding brain issues - not good.

This team has eased up all year until they needed a goal in the last 5 minutes to make up for the goals they gave away by easing up.  ... Hence “The next 3 goals are huge.”

From Snapshots

And the kid’s a 3.9 Pre-Med major.  From UND no less.  Nice…

Hmm...I only found ONE video on Jordan Pearce.  Doesn’t do much to show what he can do.

From what I’ve seen on Malik’s page and all over the ‘Net, he looks like another one from the insanely talented amateur scouting staff of the Wings.

-Howard.
-Larsson.
-McCollum.
-Pearce.

Like someone mentioned some time ago:  stacked like Chaka Khan - front and back.  Play-making centers, then puck-moving defensemen, and now stud goaltending.  Man, the Wings are damn-near ruthless in starting their own scouting trend.

I’m here.  Ironically enough, we had a bunch of severe weather and tornadoes come through the area today and everyone was worried about that and left me alone about the game last night.  Plus my boss left after lunch (he’s a Turd season-ticket holder) so I only had to see him for 4 hours.  I haven’t gone out for the evening yet though, so we’ll see if any bandwagoners have any sh*t to spout.  All in all, a much quieter day than I was expecting.  Still pissed off about the game last night though.  I dwell on this stuff WAY more than I should, but then again, I am a Wings fan.

I might be having flashbacks.....

The back-to-back at the end of the season is going to be fun.

I think it will be more like b2b big snoozes,
likely to make pre-season games look like the playoffs.

Give it a little thought....
Neither team can change the playoff structure by winning
and they both want to go to round 1 healthy.

A little speed bump in the scheduling superhighway (a perfect place for an exclamation point).

The scheduling chimps should get another plaque for their office, just before they accept the statue for this years playoff scheduling.

Well a couple of things to be decided, #6,7,8 can flop around.  It could end up Columbus and St Louise tied and use the tiebreaker of most points head to head, which I don’t know how that finished.

Vancouver can lock up the Division with 1 point vs Colorado this afternoon, but if they get 0 points Cal-Gary can win the Division with a win home vs Edmonton tonight (more wins than Vancouver).  The #2 between them visits Chicago in the first round, the Division winner will have a home seed vs whoever is #6.

All meaningless, we will host Columbus, Anaheim or St Louise that’s all that matters to me.

After watching the sleep walking Wings of most of the last two weeks and, hopefully today and tomorrow cuz i want no injuries, can the Wings suddenly show up in feisty playoff mode or will they have to get (Blue) Jacked around by some low seed before they start playing?

In fact did it appear the Wings sleep-walked the entire season save 2 games vs San Jose, the Gary.Ass.Bridgestone.Outdoor.Classic, and the Sunday game vs Pittsburgh?
