Monday’s loss to St. Louis generated the kind of quality I expect of you every game.

Wow. You guys were on FIRE the other night. I was too lazy to pick up the iPod and type on that little keyboard from the couch.
I wish I could vote for six of these, but I have to say Todd with no electricity gets the edge because of the sheer disgust in the Wings that it expresses.

I think the Wings fall into this pit trap in February every year due to the fact that they get can get by with mediocre play during the 1st half of the season and win (because motivated or not, they’re the best team in the league) but after the ASS.Game break, teams come out hungry as they drive to make a playoff spot and the Wings continue to play uninspired until they either need to eek out some wins at the end to clinch the Presidents trophy, or they don’t start playing “Red Wings Hockey” until game 5 of the 1st round of the playoffs. It happens every year! Tonight should be another nut buster because we take on Hooked on Phonix, a team who is already in desperation mode to make the post-season. A hungry team taking on a stagnant team much like it was on Monday.
And when you combine “hungry” with “stagnant” you get nausea…every time.

We all know what the Wings are capable of, and the most depressing thing is it looks like the Organization doesn’t have a clue as to how to restore their game. Calling it a traditional February slump is total denial, since it started in October. The only tradition that I put stock in, is the team that defeats the Wings in the first round always goes to the SCF.

“We will sign one more, then wait to see the new cap in June”
to mean:
“We have given up on this year, and hope next year will be better”.
I have tried 5 different computers since Monday, and can;t get away from that sinking feeling that we are in for more ‘desperation waterbug style shinny’ tonight.

[b]Henrik Zetterberg (back spasms) will play tonight[/b]. He has missed the past three games and hasn't played since signing a 12-year contract. With Zetterberg back, [b]Ville Leino will be a healthy scratch[/b]. Coach Mike Babcock said that Leino will likely return to action in Saturday's game.

As far as tonite (you gotta problem with my spelling assbreath?), let’s hope Ozzie gets shy and doesn’t expose his ‘V’ too much. Maybe gettting Zetts back will help straighten things out scoring wise but Homer’s ass out of the lineup hurts more than some people realize.

I’m not sure much is needed to drive Mickey to drink. he doesn’t strike me as the kind of person to need a reason. “I’m in the hall of fame, I’m a legend, I have a great job and make a ton of money” seems like a good enough reason to me.
