Questions For Your Live Blog

When is anyone outside of Detroit going to recognize the fact that the officiating in this series has cost the Wings the first two games?

One Trick Thid and the Pens are listed at 1900 on OLN.  Wings are listed at 1930.  What game will I get to see if I only have Gary’s closed-circuit tv station?

Updated: Here’s your answer to the VS question.  Conspiracy? No. Just more obvious bias toward Gary’s Baby Boy.

From Jennemy of the Skate in the comments below:

The whole nation will be watching Pittsburgh Vs Montreal and the San Jose /Wings game will be JIP (Joined in Progress).

If you take a look at the versus schedule (Above link) you will see that not a single Penguins game is JIP.

With curiosity, I asked the young lady what drives their viewing schedule and was shocked by her response…..“The NHL tell us which games to air and that all Penguins games are to be shown live.”

Why aren’t I as nervous as I should be, with the Wings down 0-2?  I’ll answer that one: because they’re a better team than the Sharks and because Nabokov has shown me nothing. The only advantage San Jose’s demonstrated has been the two-man variety, and it won them both games.

Who is going to step up tonite?  Nick Lidstrom, Pavel Datsyuk and Hank Zetterberg.  Because it’s what they do.

What happens now?  Wings win tonite.  What happens Thursday. Wings win then too bitch.

And then?  Well we’ll just see won’t we.

All I really know is this:  1:19 seconds, plus the officials, did the Wings in on Thursday.  The officials, hired and directed by Little Gary Bettman, violated Detroit again on Sunday. Will they pull the same tricks at the Joe? Most likely.  But desperation has always bred success in Detroit so I’m saying they’ll win in spite of another obvious shaft job.  And then they’ll win again in Game 4.  This series goes back to NoCal tied up, and it’s not because of Jebus or providence or puppies or hookers on fire trucks.  It’s because the Wings do well when they’re pissed and that they most definitely must be.

Live blog it.

I was thinking about this today, and there’s definitely no reason we can’t at least make it a series.  As many people have pointed out, this series could right now be so different just from a few small things, some of which the Wings have had no control over.  After we win tomorrow, our biggest challenge will winning on the road in game 5.  That will be tough, but more than do-able.  If we somehow manage to do that, think about the position we’ll be in.  Back home, at the Joe, for a game 6.  At that point, if that really did happen, it would mean the Wings decided “you know what, fuch this shit” and actually showed up and got the job done for two games and pushed it to 6.  If they did do that, really decided to make it happen, then there’s no way in hell they lose game 6 at home after sucking it up and avoiding elimination for two previous games.  Then in a game 7 all bets are off.  So my point is, we just need to win the next two games.

Think about it - if there’s one team in the league that everyone would agree could potentially choke away a 3-0 series lead, who is it?  Yes, they’re playing well right now and don’t look like the chokers of old, but still - the one team that based on recent experience could potentially do that, is the Sharks.  On the other side of the coin, what’s the one team that most people would agree could potentially be the team to climb that mountain?  The Wings.  My point is just that I think the odds are more favorable in this situation than they are in most other 0-3 series situations.

But it starts with a win tomorrow.

I have no faith that the Wings will make a historic comeback and win this.

Wings in 7.

Nothing like a little levity in the face of a sweep.

Now Datsyuk has to watch out for McCarty.

For those of you saying to stick with Jimmah, would we have won the cup in 2008, if Babs had stuck with Dom?

we might have.  but either way it’s a completely different situation.  you continue to ignore this fact.

What is there to lose?

what is there to gain?  blame who you want, but the reality is Osgood basically hasn’t played since December.  he gives us little chance of winning, whereas Howard gives us a good chance of winning.  he has kept the Wings in games.  hasn’t stolen one yet, maybe he will tonight.

but the bottom line is Howard is now our goalie.  yanking him at this point serves no purpose.
