Pretty sure every one of you has H1N1, which is why I’ve kept my distance today. Oh, I was tempted. The discussion that just wouldn’t end about points and won/losses and hookers...a thriller.
Thank god it’s almost game time on Little Gary’s Closed Circuit TV Station.
It’s Gary’s world. If one accurate thing was uttered today that was it. The little troll’s got us by the nads.
So we might as well Live Blog this bitch.

Awesome sponsor for today, maybe Bonzo’s intro will inspire the Wings to lead 3-0 after 2 minutes.
Now some “good news”.
First game at the Joe after 3 or more away games:
-since the lockout, 10 wins and 11 losses.
-last season, 1 win and 5 losses (including CLB 8-0 and NYI 2-0)

Would be nice if I could live blog it. But since it’s on freaking Versus, I won’t be able to. $%@#* Versus.

So… any plans to join the Pillow Fight League in the offseason?

Exactly. Sigh. I’ll be stuck waiting for updates on the NHL Network and getting texts from my buddy who can actually watch the game. Thanks, Gary.

Lol… sorry no. I’m still reffing the local co-ed derby pickup league in the off-season. I might take you up on the feed if I can’t get this other one to work. Stupid Versus.

Kicking this one off early tonite eh? I can handle that.
Buddy of mine just sent me a pic of the seats he claims he’s got tonite. His g/f’s cousin works for the Bs and those bastards are first row behind the visitors bench. Some friends. Let the drinking commence.

Jennemy, I’ve got a couple of leads for feeds as well, but wont know if they’re working till probably 30 seconds before puck drop. You know who to thank.
I’ll letcha know when I get a hit.

Nice work Guilherme. (I’ve gotta work on a snappy nickname, since I can’t spell your name without looking).
Because it is probably worth repeating, from the previous thread:
This just in from the “Something has got to give Department”:
DET PK 72.7% (28)
BOS PP 12.2 % (29)
“Getting the Led Out” might just be the season tag-line for the Wings due to their propensity to allow too many juicy scoring chances minutes into the game.
OLA 19, thank Gawd I opted for Dish, since they carry the bicycle channel in HD.

Evenin’ all.
This is a big week for the Wings.
“A statement week, already, in early-November??”, you ask. “Red Winger may be one well-endowed hedgehog”, you murmur, “but clearly this season’s troublesome start has taken its toll on his mental faculties”
Fear not.
Boston tonight. San Jose Thursday. Two teams that many predict will meet in late-May for the right to party with Stanley all summer.
This week is measuring stick week. And to be honest, whatever happens this coming Saturday in Toronto won’t mean a damn thing. So much pomp and circumstance surrounding the Hall of Fame inductions, plus the fact the boys will be on Hockey Night in Canada, is enough to throw a mighty karate kick to the groin of the team’s mental state. We could beat Toronto Saturday 10 -1, or lose 14-3...none would surprise me.
But enough about Toronto.
Boston and San Jose are key. And so is the month of November.
The Wings do not have a more favorable monthly schedule than this month of November. A lot of home games. They must take advantage now, because the month of January is downright brutal. March isn’t too bad, but let’s face it: what happens in November will have a direct affect on how important March will be.
The turnaround starts tonight.
It must.

My wife makes a good point. “You’ll sit there and look at porn for three hours on the computer. So why are you bitching about watching a hockey game?” I didn’t know she was onto me....

Hey Chief, early stages of planning for A2Y meetup at JLA Jan 17 or Mar 13. You gonna be back in Mich at all this winter?
Posted by Nate A from Dark side of the moon on 11/03/09 at 06:42 PM ET
You guys seen any alleged “chatter on the internet” about the Wings being interested in fuchfacefloppa?
There’s been some chatter on the internet hinting that the Red Wings were among the teams in Sweden this week to scout Peter Forsberg, who is healthy again and competing in the Karjala Cup tournament.
The Wings may very well be scouting that tournament, but I just exchanged emails with Ken Holland and he very clearly said the team had no interest in Forsberg.

I could live with him, it’s been such a long time since the Denver days. Of course he would have to play more than once a month.

About Abel to Yzerman
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that. Your suggestions and critiques are welcome:

"Hell, I guarantee the content co-opters at Abel to Yzerman were about to link this article under the heading “Bitter Blues Fans” again right up until they just read that last half-sentance. Thanks but no thanks, you Kukla hangers-on."

"I realize it’s the slow summer season, but can this guy tone down the tough-guy histrionics? His posts are fatiguing on an otherwise excellent site."
--A2Y Fan, Eternal_Fields
"I constantly marvel at how Bill (IwoCPO) and his disciples at Abel To Yzerman can be so pompous and full of themselves throughout every regular season, but come playoff time they collapse into wavering puddles of stress and nervousness as they anxiously await the impending and unavoidable collapse of the Red Wings in the post-season."
--Mile High Hockey
"I hate them because they are better than us. Of all the frigging teams…"
--In The Cheap Seats
"It's just a shame that the most classless, uneducated, lowbrow fanbase in the league gets this sweep. Red Wing fans don't deserve their team."
--Thhom
"I really don’t care what fans or bloggers think."
--Drew Sharp
"Why is it you Detroit fans are still so classless when you have such a classy hockey team, with such a professional GM and gentlemen players? I understand that the author of this blog is a manner-less cad, but the rest of you should be better."
--A2Y Fan, Jeff Beaumont
"Have you ever *read* A2Y? Its the most opinionated, juvenile stuff i've read."
