Update: 1139. I had a ditty ready to go and about to post when I found out about this:
Defenseman Brian Rafalski will not play in tonight’s Game 1 of the second-round playoff series against Anaheim. Rafalski’s injury is listed as day-to-day. Chris Chelios will play.
So, the defense pairings tonight will be ...
Lidstrom-Ericsson
Kronwall-Stuart
Lebda-CheliosOn the power play, the Wings will use more of a three-man rotation on the blue line with Lidstrom, Kronwall and Samuelsson. Stuart and Ericsson will also be used to a limited extent
Holy fu**. Pass the bucket. Make room at the bar. Start shoveling coal and stand by because I’ve got a disgusting 2007 missing Kronwall and Schneider sick to my stomach kind of feeling coming on real strong.
***Original post is below and refers to a MacLeod article written before news of Rafalski’s injury.***
After two years of fawning over Bruce MacLeod like he was some sort of re-incarnation of a great hockey writer that I can’t think of right now? Well, he picked the wrong frigging day to do this.
PREDICTION: Ducks in six.
No mood for that today Bruce. No. mood. I’m not gonna forget this one Bruce.
You may think you’re being all cute and unique, a rebel among the beat writers with the nuts to go against the local grain.
But I’m here to tell you that it’s not cute and it’s not funny.
I’m here to tell you Bruce that we’ve been on your side for a long time, defended you, put you on a pedestal, even gave you the title of Anti-Digger.
And now this?
No. No, I tell you. That won’t do.
So Bruce? On Mayday, with just under 400 minutes until they drop the puck in Hockeytown, the home of the defending Stanley Cup Champions and only current dynasty in professional sports? Yes, on this day Bruce…I have only these two words for you:
Suck it.
And when the Wings win in 5, I’ll remind you of your prediction. Again and again. Anytime I cite you, it will be, “MacLeod, who predicted the Poultry in six…”.
More work for me Bruce? Yes. But I’ll handle it. I’m sorry it’s come to this Bruce.
Anti-Digger my ass. A muck raker and a traitor.
Not today Bruce. You picked the wrong day to cause this kind of panic.

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
