We’ll Give It A Go

What the heck.  How ‘bout a live blog?  We’ll start it here and even invite the Canes bloggers to join in.  And for you Cane fans shafted out of TV coverage tonite, here’s a gift...courtesy of Matt Saler, a Wing fan.

To help you pass the time until the puck drops?  Here’s Bruce MacLeod.

The Montreal beat writer couldn’t resist.

“It must be nice to cover a team that wins so often,” he said. “All we have here are controversies. Every now and then controversy is fun, but when it’s every day you hate it.”

This is coming from a writer in the most hockey crazy city in the world.

Another empty JLA.  I’m tired of listing the reasons.

You’d think all the Lions fans downtown could have found it in themselves to head down to the Joe for a game in which they stand a chance of seeing a win from the home team…

That’s a goal.  No question.

Mikael Samuelsson has now gone seven games without a goal.  He has additional streaks of 8 and 5 games without scoring for a total of 3 goals all year.

Canes faithful aren’t going to like that. “More evidence of pro-Wings bias!” or some such thing.

And just as I wrote that, they’ve given that goal to Samuelsson.

1-0, Wings already looked like they were on a PP.
Anyone else notice how much space (respect) the Wings defense is giving the Canes.

His 4th of the season?  That means he’s on target for what? 12 this year?

Fil’s definitely worked on his defensive game more than anything else this season - maybe in the second half, he’ll wake up. We can only hope.

5-3.  Definitely a conspiracy.

On this 5-on-3, it’s painfully obvious that the 2nd Unit was out there… Too bad the Eurotwins were rested…

Er, that should be “too bad the Eurotwins weren’t rested.

Kronwall seems to forget that he’s got some offensive talent out there with him on the second unit.  Lots of shots from the point when he could use moves we know he has to get deeper.

By my count, Wings have now killed off 25 consecutive opposing power plays.
