It seems the Vancouver Canucks have far too much goal scoring going on for them to need the services of Ryan Shannon...
Apparently the Vancouver Canucks are looking for more than just goals from Ryan Shannon. The Canucks on Thursday assigned Shannon to Manitoba of the American Hockey League despite the fact that the center has scored in two of Vancouver’s three games.
Acquired from Anaheim during the summer, Shannon tallied a power-play goal in the Canucks’ 4-3 overtime win over Calgary on Saturday before added another man-advantage marker in an 8-2 loss to Philadelphia on Wednesday.
There’s some brilliant ‘Plan B’ ahead, I’m sure… (ugh).

Well, be fair about it, PuckHound61. He was minus 4 in the freakin’ Philly game alone. Those stats are pretty much a disaster all around.
I can’t see them trading Shannon… or I certainly hope not, anyway. I actually have high hopes for him.

I am the opposite Alanah.
Shannon wont amount to much in this new NHL as far as I am concerned, he may become a 20 goal scorer one day, he may not, sure he has great speed but he makes plenty of mistakes, the puck can be taken away from him with ease and he isnt going to be much help offensively for the Canucks because of his small stature.
He also fed Richards for the breakway goal when it was 5 on 3, a terrible blunder.

Yeah, I’m going to agree that -7 is a bit of a problem. I’m sure he won’t stay down for very long, but good god, look at these numbers. I can’t believe Luongo’s let alone the rest of the team’s stats.
If this team doesn’t come out against Edmonton like a bat out of hell with f’ing fury in their eyes, Vigneault’s head will explode.

canucks.com needs to change their current poll too…it’s currently listing shannon as the hardest working player they have. haha.

I have yet to be impressed by Shannon. Not that any player was impressive last night.
A trained ape could score 20 goals per season playing on a line with the Sedins.

Defintly need this 5’9 dot off this team. all he can do is scor eon an empty net he hasnt shown any kind of NHL calibre skills yet.
We need to be playing Isbister and Rypein. We need some edge to our game maybe a lil toughness as we got walked all over in a 8-2 loss with no reprucussions for philly. Cowan has to start throwing them more often

Shannon is minus 7 after 3 games, he definetly needed to be sent down.
Maybe a trade will be forthcoming.
