I don’t even know how to introduce this video clip properly… but two things should be said off the top:
- If you’re sensitive about foul language, don’t bother watching
- If you’re a fan of Markus Naslund (as I am) don’t be too sensitive
Still, this is totally original and pretty damn clever; certainly made me laugh. Watch:
I realize bringing up Hitler on an innocent little hockey blog is just asking for trouble. But alas, sometimes “funny” overwhelms common sense. (Frequently, in my case...)
Besides, that rant sounds somewhat similar to my own after the Canucks were eliminated.

You’re probably right. Someone else promptly wrote me and said they saw the same clip used with different subtitles.

Never seen it before, so it was a thing of beauty. Yes, it was in horrible, horrible taste, but holy crap that was funny.

This was awesome. I’m sure people could spin it around any of the non-playoff teams this year. Especially Atlanta, who rose from a six game deficit to take the lead in the Southeast, only to go on a free fall leading up to, and after, the trade deadline.
I couldn’t stop laughing through the clip, though. Great stuff!

@w2jw: It’s from the 2004 movie “Der Untergang”. AFIR it also got nominated for the foreigns Oscar.
Pretty strange to watch this as native German and understanding the words. But it’s pretty good once you get into it with the subs, it’s well balanced with the actual speech.
Oh and one more: Go AVS!

I`m glad everyone seems to have found the same humor in it as I did.
Robert -- it never occurred to me before you commented, but knowing both languages (as you do) would certainly make it difficult to parse the humor angle of it. The subject matter of the original is hardly a humorous one. I`m glad you were still able to appreciate it despite that.
As for the `Go Avs` thing… don`t be doing that around here. It distresses me!

Tragically true. Let the rebuilding begin. Five or six years from now we’ll be lamenting how Oilers Captain Cogliano just score in overtime to knock us out of Round 1 of the playoffs.
