The Ice Block has christened them “Milary” and I’m seriously worried that the name will catch on.
Meet the “power couple” of Mike Comrie and Hilary Duff.
From TMZ:
Hilary and fresh boy toy Mike Comrie were spotted having a romantic dinner last night at Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica. Try the veal cutlet! Comrie is the center for the New York Islanders hockey team, but his “net worth” doesn’t stop there; the Canadian pucker comes with quite a wad of cash—as heir to the Brick Warehouse fortune (which is Canada’s version of Sears). Score!
Not to be picky, but “The Brick” is not Canada’s version of Sears. SEARS is Canada’s version of Sears.
But I do approve of one thing: calling Mike Comrie a “pucker” has a special ring to it. Or so Edmonton fans are liable to point out.

First, Mike Comrie is a little stale as a BF.
Second, I think I’m going to try using “pucker” in conversation as a synonym for hockey player. The phrase “what a pucker” can be either a compliment or a curse, based solely on tone of voice, and that kind of linguistic versatility should be exploited when possible.

That picture is interesting, though, in that she looks like she is trying not to cry and he looks very angry, as though he is going to start screaming at her once there are no cameras around. What a happy couple.

24hrs: When did you become a hockey fan?
Hilary: I don’t know anything about hockey.
24hrs: Well, with Mike Comrie (NY Islanders) on your arm in some photos, you’re going to have to learn something.
Hilary: Do you want to give me a crash course?
24hrs: Get down to Vancouver and get a good Canucks jersey on your back!
Hilary: (laughs) Okay.
Miss Duff is in town for a concert at the Garage tonight.
