Secret of Detroit’s Success

There is nothing but hard science behind this latest innovation in pre-game workouts, as developed by coach Mike Babcock.  On this top-secret footage, you can see his Detroit Red Wings as they prepare for their match against Vancouver on Sunday.  Impressive stuff.

Also very gratifying to see The Dominator’s hip is looking so much better.

Now, another thing…

Matt Ellis’ goal against Vancouver last Wednesday didn’t get contested by anyone on the ice, I don’t think.  But on Coach’s Corner Saturday night, Don Cherry presented an angle that made for a good argument that Luongo may have been interfered with via Tomas Kopecky’s stick.

Fast forward to about 3:40 into this video—the first angle looks pretty much like Luongo is taken out by his own teammate pushing a guy into him, but the second angle makes a good case for Kopecky being the guilty party.

That was a one goal game, if you recall.  So people can disagree all they want, but it’s been my personal experience that there’s always an upside in assuming the worst about Detroit.

Those Red Wings… just a dark force made up of lying, cheating, blackened souls…

Who’d a thunk that a guy would be that picky about pink tulle.

Alanah, I notice you did not include Holmstrom in your group photo.
That is the guy to watch out for tonight!

Have to admit that was pretty funny…

And of course Don thinks it was interference. If it were Ryan Getzlaf on the play it would be “hard work” or a “gritty play”. But it was a Euro, so it was cowardly and interference.

George -- I definitely have NO difficulty believing that Hasek was concerned with all the specifications of his tutu.  No difficulty at all…

Baroque -- Detroit’s fans probably wear their tutus without serious concern for detail, but Hasek is ‘special’. (Can’t we all agree on that?)

Paul -- I had to photoshop Holstrom out of the image.  This is a family blog and H is a bit of an exhibitionist.  *shudder*

IwoCPO -- Not bitter. On the contrary, I’m in awe of your team and their fearless sense of fashion and shamelessness. Such an inspiration.

Nathan -- As predictable as Cherry is in that anti-Euro respect, Kopecky’s stick does look suspiciously like it’s driving Luongo out of the circle.

Regardless, as I said, I find it’s best to assume the worst about Detroit. The world makes so much more sense that way. smile

Lets see, Wings vs Canucks, I see it Wings 2, Canucks ZIP.  Love that tootoo on Dom and come on, that looks nothing like Maltby, more like Holmstrom if you ask me.  Very funny though....
