Vancouver’s Backup Plan

Canucks Free Agency Thrills, in summary—

Negatives:

Positives:

  • Those Maple Leafs and St. Louis Blues Reclamation Projects (if you’re into that sorta thing)
  • And it turns out the Canucks do have a backup plan for losing Sundin…

...this is it:

Sweet geezus. There’s more at TSN, but do you care?

It’s noon here, and so cocktail hour shall commence.

And thank god for that.  Matthew Sekeres’s assessment of Gillis at the Globe & Mail is best enjoyed while tipsy.

I don’t mind having Baumer coming back, but nothing that Gillis has done so far has made me think: “Wow, good thing they fired Nonis.”

I’m cool with Baumer returning, but geez… the last 30 hours or so haven’t exactly inspired me. smile

Imagine this team with Johnson, Baumgartner, etc., and no Naslund or Morrison.

You thought LAST year was boring???

I’m just going to stock up on plenty of Jack Daniels and ride this puppy out. Wait, maybe that’s what Mike Gillis is doing right now.

Shabbadoo is spot on. You have to think Nonis and Burke are absolutely loving this entire Gillis concept failing on such a public stage. And while we’re at it, someone track Aquillini down and get his take on his hand picked GM actually making his investment worse.

And GZ, you thought last year was boring?? No no, next year won’t be boring. Next year will be a ton of more scoring just against us. If oyu like hockey in theory, then it’s not sooo bad. Though one has to wonder what system Vigneault will have to deploy to get more offensive WITH LESS weapons.
