Useless stat of the day: the last time the Red Wings failed to eliminate an opponent in the playoffs given the chance was in 1998, in the Conference finals against Dallas. They won the series 4-2. (The same thing happened the previous round against St. Louis.)

Chief,
The Hasek is a mess. Lots of cat “debris”, if you catch my drift. I have several pelts on the roof tacked out and drying. Should make good throw pillows. That’s the unique thing about cats, they are more useful dead. Any way, what’s up with the chocolate syrup all over the walls? May need to get the power washer out.
Rolling south…....

I’ve been a cat owner for over twenty years (okay, no one really “owns” a cat), but that’s just freaking hilarious.
However, if you’d care to step back here to the baggage car, Rumbear, my friends Spike and Igor would like to “discuss” a few things with you. Fair warning…a faceshield wouldn’t be a bad idea.

The game tomorrow is gonna be on NBC…I am so f*cking sick of Douche Canoe and his pal. Man, I wish I was back in Detroit, if only to finally hear some good hockey commentary again.

If you hadn’t already warmed up to Franzen, maybe
this interview with Franzenstein will change your mind!
Me, I’m Glad to see we agree on the Captain.

80% of Game 5 winners win the series. Let’s hope the Wings do not Passover this opportunity.

Bring on the Douche Canoe!

Second useless stat of the day: More people now bet on the Presidential race than the Stanley Cup finals… Thanks Gary. Ass.

GOLF? WTF!? WHERE THE HELL IS THE GAME?
I’m not stressed. No.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 04/20/08 at 02:03 PM ET
Although should it surprise anyone that NBC doesn’t know the difference between a hockey stick and a golf club?

and don’t worry, the players are still in their warm-up skate.
Posted by PaulinMiamiBeach on 04/20/08 at 02:06 PM ET
They’d better switch over at 3:15 on the dot…

I sure hope it’s not golf… I’ve got the DVR rolling on NBC so I can watch the game when I get home!
Posted by Ryan from Syracuse, NY on 04/20/08 at 02:07 PM ET
Where is the game? I am having a fit!!! What GOLF? Where is the game? WHERE IS THE GAME?
Posted by hockeychic from Denver, CO on 04/20/08 at 02:07 PM ET
This is un-f***** believable… Tom Watson is a genius and everything, but Gary Bettman most definitely is not…
Posted by mudshark from Divetown, Colorado on 04/20/08 at 02:08 PM ET
GOLF? Freakin’ Golf? I’m not stressed… man I hate having to start watching the game with wet pants. Maybe while NBC takes calls from angry fans I can sneak into the baggage car and change… Oh, excuse me guys, I didn’t know it was ‘occupato’...
Posted by Mike from La-La Land on 04/20/08 at 02:08 PM ET
**@%$# old guys playing golf. This is’nt Tiger 14528 Wooods…it’s the seniors!!!
Posted by Rumbear from Top O da Hasek, sippin rum & catchin some rays on 04/20/08 at 02:09 PM ET
Broadcast will start at 3:15, no worries. The game was scheduled to begin round 3:20 anyway.
So, think of it as no Pierre and Mike for 15 minutes. Be happy.

Paul, quit being the voice of reason.
Someone needs to crosscheck that pasty white guy in the Titlist golf cap. That’s the only thing that’s going to appease me at the moment.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 04/20/08 at 02:10 PM ET
CBC still has warmups and preview stuff - reviewing the Montreal-Boston 3rd period from last night.
Tigers losing 5-3 in the 6th (just in case it matters even against a non-divisional opponent).
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 04/20/08 at 02:10 PM ET
Thank goodness I’m getting to see the final round of the outback steak house creamy ranch dressing pro am.
‘Tis a sad day when hockey takes second seat to golf (or horse racing for that matter). Screw you NBC.

Actually, golf - even without Tiger - gets much better ratings than we do.
Posted by Steve from New Jersey on 04/20/08 at 02:12 PM ET
My DishNetwork is pre-empted too. Listening to Ken Kal.
As Paul noted, Arnott is out. Wings play like they did in game 5, we SHOULD be okay.
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 04/20/08 at 02:12 PM ET
Scott Nichol going to try to play today
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 04/20/08 at 02:12 PM ET
Steve J.. see my post at 2:59… sad indeed… Thanks NBC. Asses.
Posted by Mike from La-La Land on 04/20/08 at 02:14 PM ET
Maybe I’ll listen to Ken Kal and watch NBC, so long as their timing is not too far off
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 04/20/08 at 02:14 PM ET
One minute motherf*&^ers. One minute.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 04/20/08 at 02:15 PM ET
it is Gary that is the ass allowing a contract like this. Why doesn’t our sport get treated with any respect?
Posted by hockeychic from Denver, CO on 04/20/08 at 02:15 PM ET
Seen on CBC: The Predators enter the ice through an inflatable pred-head?!?!?!
It looks like a pool toy on steroids.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 04/20/08 at 02:15 PM ET
I didn’t know you Wings fans were all so eager to see the 15 minutes of pre-game coverage Milbury and McGuire had planned.
Fact is, you’d be complaining about them and their pre-game show instead of this right now.
Posted by Steve from New Jersey on 04/20/08 at 02:16 PM ET
Ohh freaking geez… biggest game of the year pre-empted for freaking golf
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 04/20/08 at 02:16 PM ET
Thank God doofus missed that putt… no playoff now… Take me to Nashville, NBC!!
