73 Men Sailed Up For This Live Blog and It Was 19 Who Led Them

One of my favorite tunes of all time and a tribute to the best frigging Captain in the history of professional sports.  What became inevitable on June 7th, 1997 won’t actually occur for 48 more hours.  But you just know tonite’s all about 19.

So let’s Live Blog this bitch, eh?

I’m betting HNIC will show most, if not all, of this…

Khan(!)

Former Detroit Red Wings captain Steve Yzerman, ex-Wings Brett Hull and Luc Robitaille, Brian Leetch and Lou Lamoriello will be honored tonight during a pregame ceremony at Air Canada Centre.

The five will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday night.

The festivities will push back the start of the Wings-Leafs game by 20 minutes, for a 7:28 puck drop.

Okay, guys, I hate to break this to you, but just because Sammy is in Vancouver doesn’t mean that you all have to take it upon yourselves to MISS THE NET ALL THE TIME!

And I knew that was going to happen.  Sigh.

Not a surprise, really.  Lebda needs an experienced partner and Ericsson is having the typical rookie growing pains that he missed last year during the playoff run.  Put them together, and well, ...

Everybody knows…. SO WHY THE HELL ARE THEY STILL PLAYING TOGETHER

Yeah, blame Lebda even though Ericsson and Draper are just as at fault.

It’s like Lebda was trying to turn his legs into a bull’s eye for Primeau. Yeah, put it right through here, Ozzie will never see it coming because my useless ass is in his way.

Because splitting them up would mean one of the big 4 has to do down a line, which they shouldn’t. And one of the terrible 2 would have to go up, which they shouldn’t.

Draper fell. Shit happens.

Big Rig, bad pinch, but shouldn’t have been as big a problem.

Lebda, Most ineffective shot block ever, and simultaneously screened Ozzy in close. Worthless.

Ericsson and Lebda have played almost half of the entire 1st period. It makes sense though, Toronto is the worst team in the league and Babs see a chance to get those 2 some decent ice time. But goddamn!

You know Monkey, I was thinking Babs might try something like that too. Wear em out early so he has a reason to keep em on the bench when it gets nitty gritty.

Hurricanes are actually worse, although they are leading Columbus 1-0 after a period right now.

Toronto has been incompetent thus far at winning in overtime or via shootout - while Montreal on the other hand seems to have a really hard time winning in regulation.
