Holy…Two consecutive polls. Good frigging sweet baby adorable Jesus. Only on A2Y. Progressive. Aggressive. Bold.
Previous poll had you conflicted. Wondering whether you should pick the obvious choice in Datsyuk for the Byng, or lend your heart to the Selke voting. I’m sorry to have done that to you. It was unfair, and it was mean.
Pick your Selke.

I’m backing the bastard. Thanks, Gary. Ass.

Wow, Dats is popular here on Abel to Yzerman. I’d like to point out that the Abel to Yzerman banner now shows that the Red Wings won the 2007-08 Stanely Cup. Well isn’t that nice.
Sweet little eight-pound baby Jesus.

I think the voters are going to give the selke to Z even though Pavs really should win it.

Pavel should get it - if the voting was done after the playoffs, it would definitely be Zetterberg.
I too fear option #3. :(
If that happens, I will hoep for a Datsyuk takeaway to rectify the situation!

I think Pav wins the Selke. If the vote was taken after the playoffs, Hank probably gets it. But I think that Pav’s +/- stat and his insane takeaway margin is a bit too much to overlook.

Hank’s got the media love - and he’s had it all along - he’ll get the win.
If Madden wins it - ugh.
Yuck.

For the last two months, yes - but for most of the regular season the raves were for Datsyuk.

Really? I don’t remember reading a single story, blog post, or hearing an analyst on TV mention Datsyuk except in the context of his being paired with Zetterberg. The first month of the season or so (while he had the scoring lead) was all about Zetterberg, too (deservedly).
I do think Datsyuk deserves it. He’s better through the neutral zone and better with the puck in the defensive zone. Zetterberg may be better without the puck in the defensive zone, but not by enough. But I thought there was no way any media types who didn’t watch him regularly (basically Eastern Conference journalists) would vote for him.

About Abel to Yzerman
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that. I’d give it to Pav. But I very much fear option #3
