2 game series lead.  I’ll take it.  But come on folks, send thoughts, prayers, cortisone shots, whatever, Mule’s way.  I have a feeling games will stay pretty close until we get him back.

And just for the record, I, as a good Michigan boy, love Gordon Lightfoot.  And as an avid Dylan fan…no, sorry, “Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald” DOES beat hands-down anything Dylan ever did.

Maybe “Canadian Railroad TRILOGY” next time?

I dunno, Turco is pulling a reincarnation of Ed Belfour [the Eagle’s not dead put his career is so I guess it kinda makes sense].  The Wings haven’t taken any shots at him.

The refs really let this game get out of hand and get really chippy at the end.

Turco gets away with at least two whacks to the back of Homer’s head and a baltant trip of Flip. Then Ribeiro two-hands Ozzie in the chest. I honestly never thought I’d see this kind of crap from Dallas.

Guess that just goes to show how effective the Wings are. They’re driving Dallas to the brink…and beyond.

If Ribeiro doesn’t get a suspension, I hope Mac lays waste to him in Game 3…even if it costs us the game. Other teams have to know there’s a penalty for the sort of bullshit.

On the one hand I’d like to see that, but with the chance to put the boot to the throat I’d like to see the Wings stay out of the sin bin and put the Stars on the brink.  Dallas has one even-strength goal.  And they are 1-9 on the power play.

Force them to score at even strength.  It hasn’t worked so well for them thus far.

From my hockey viewing buddy (AKA my dad): “What I want to know is just how much Dallas bribed the refs with to get some of those non-calls.”  No calls on Turco for tripping Fils and punching Homer?  Whatthefuckever.

Nice to see Helm get his first NHL goal, and a pretty one at that.  Now he just needs to score a few more, like in game three would be nice.

Seeing Sammy on the point just makes me sad.  Hell, seeing Sammy on the ice period makes me sad.  And all this sadness is just going to make me drink more.  Alcohol: the cause of and solution to all of life’s problems (particularly when your team is in the playoffs).

Sorry, I was out watching our local ECHL team tonight. Thankfully the Cyclones won in OT.  Thanks to all of you for catching me up on the Wings game. I’m wanting to puke over VS calling for Osgood to get a fine for getting slashed across the chest. Ugh.

Baby Marty seems to have conveniently forgotten he did the same thing to Helm in Game 1…and got away with it. I never thought of the Stars as being a “cry baby” team (like the Bitter Blues or Bubba Jr.), but they haven’t stopped whining since the first puck dropped in this series.

I’ve got a whole different level of (dis)respect for Bubba Sr. now. Modano must be ashamed to be in the same room as these whiners.

I’ll take the win.  Good to have a 2-0 lead going into Dallas.  To echo what others have said, the only line I noticed for the Stars was the 4th line.  The Vs. announcers were so awful once again.  I had a friend over who is not a Wings fan and even he commented on it.  Wings really missed Franzen and I’m wondering what is wrong.  Anyone hear anything about Lehtinen for the Stars?  The Stars are not generating enough shots, good job to the Wings D.  But to hear the VS announcers, it is just blown chances for the Stars.  Thanks, Gary.  ASS.

I hope so. I have a lot of respect for him and his willingness to stick with the franchise.

These guys have been whining and I’m not sure why. Obviously, it’s another sign of their frustration but really?

I got a chance to see the game on CBC. They were awed by both our puck control, which they deemed a “clinic,” and our team D. They also kept talking about how ‘lucky’ Babs is to be able to put his best players out in any situation. No mention of dual Selke nominations. No mention of what Babs said yesterday about taking on Scotty’s system for creating defensively sound offensive players: witness Dats.

Then Homoberry and his fffaaaaabullosss suit highlights Mac for 5 seconds and talk about how the fans (behind the glass) love him and that kind of hockey. No mention of EuroTwin dominance. If Z’s name was Zilmore, grapes would be all over him; kiss him even (like he did his good ol’ boy).

Ribeiro had BETTER be suspended for that shit.  Turco has been taking shots at Red Wings players all game and no one took a swing at him.

That friggin’ ass-clown. Should Osgood have stuck his stick out there? Probably not. Do you turn around and chop a guy in the chest for it after the play is over? Definitely not. Especially not with Turco on the other end of things generally mauling anything in a red jersey that gets close enough.

I don’t foresee any suspensions; no virgins here. But I wouldn’t mind seeing Mac or someone else teach Ribeiro to stay the hell away from our goalie.

Suspensions handed out at this stage of the playoffs usually are for the next regular season.
