Morning troopers. We in the military use the term “out of pocket” from time to time. Sounds all official so we like it. I’ve been “out of pocket” for 28 hours, but will be back posting later today. I noticed the Dive bloggers found it interesting that I hadn’t jumped on the opportunity to tactfully remind them of their little deficit problem. I’ll see what I can do to rectify that problem today.

I’m torn, Chief.
On the one hand, this team is broken and the Wings have shown they’re better in every single category. Obviously I’m looking for the Wings to sweep, but I won’t lie; some part of me will be dissapointed if they do. The rivalry is over, sure, but the Dive at least need to put up a good fight…and their fans have pretty much been sodomized (not that there’s anything wrong with that) by an idiot coach. Yeah, we can mock them, but really, is there anything we can say that wouldn’t be better expressed with a smug congratulations on a good season? The “Avs Nation” is really an embarassment, and adding any more is like kicking a dying puppy.
On the other hand, these are Dive fans we’re talking about. Their bloggers have turned their focus on this site in particular lately, and they’ve alternated between playing victims to us evil Wings fans, or they have attacked, suggesting that we’re a group of uneducated, self-righteous homophobes. (All without merit, but I especially don’t get that last one. We have openly embraced Avs Tranny Darren Garcia here. Well, obviously not in the same way Dive fans have embraced him - we do it figuratively, not passionately in the back seat of our mom’s ‘87 Nissan Sentra…but I digress.) Their ignorance has shone unusually bright, and they’ve shown absolutely no interest in, knowledge of, or regard for hockey culture or the history of their team. Because of that, I have hard time showing them the slightest bit of compassion. Yes, the rivalry is dead. But does that lessen our obligation as hockey fans to bring attention to their idiocy?
I just don’t know.

Crap…that was really nifty looking in preview.
Oh well, the point is still the same…the Vagalanche are a mess like my post.
Wonder if 3/4 is getting the start?

Gabriel, I feel somewhat like you do about the sweep.
Then I think of Claude Lemieux.
Then I’m all right about the absolute soul-crushing misery a sweep will inflict on the same people who cheered him and his inhuman acts on, no matter what nadir of fandom they’ve reached.
Seeing Draper and D-Mac on the ice when it comes will make it that much sweeter.

I have never called you guys homophobes.
And in all honesty I hope everyone knows everything I say here, and on my blog, is all in good fun.

According to the HighLander, “3 0r 4” will be between the pipes again.
If all goes according to form, “Lose 3 or 4” will again give up 4, in the 4th game, resulting in a 4th straight Av’s loss.

So “chief” has commented on my blog (and Joe@MHH’s) from time to time, he’s obviously a blog-pimp as well.
That makes everyone else his ho’s right?

It’s just them pimping.
Certainly S’hane and Gobbles, by entering the web addresses of their respective blogs in the URL field of the comment block, have at least on some level a desire for readers to visit their blogs.
Otherwise, why bother? If they just wanted to “talk hockey,” there would be no need—just make up a screen name, type it in, identify yourself as an Av’tard and have at it.
Yes, we know, in the blogging world site traffic is the name of the game, especially when hanging out with your other blogger buddies on the interweb.
And to Dive bloggers, traffic count is the equivalent of penis length when they play ‘sword fight’ in the shower room of the local Gold’s Gym—every little bit helps.

Of course I want people to read my site and my writing, If I didn’t I wouldn’t I’d just think it privately and never put it on these tubes. So yes I’m happy if people have clicked on my name and come over and read my stuff (and you have!). I’d be lying if i said i didn’t want you to read my stuff.
But that is a nice side effect of being here. The reason I am here, is to talk crap (in good fun), take in a different point of view, and procrastinate reading this for work.

Not so fast wing fans, Tue performance looked like a deliberate attempt to fill the Joe one more time:
I don’t know if you got to watch, or how much you saw.
Wings didn’t deserve that one, most teams would have smoked ‘em the way they played. Ozzie had to come up big in the last 5 minutes and he did.
They played a real sloppy game defensively, don’t beleive all the hype.
Overbackchecking, and in their own end they often had 2 players after the puck carrier, creating a lot of open ice that Colorado never noticed, and
confusing their own defensemen.
Even worse, they did the same thing on the PK.
Back to Back too many men penalties in the third should have killed them.
Thursday’s game should be interesting… I am wondering if the Officiating could possibly
be any worse.

I have never called you guys homophobes.
Nipplegrippler, someone from your herd did. They also made an accusation of anti-semitism…which, by the way, was comically revealing about the poster.
Come to think of it, I now remember who is it was that said that, and I actually sympathize with you, Gibletnibbler. Even a Dive fan shouldn’t have to put up with that type of forum troll.
And in all honesty I hope everyone knows everything I say here, and on my blog, is all in good fun.
Sad part is, a few people take this stuff far too seriously. I like this place because everyone’s got a good sense of humor about the whole thing. For example, I hope you know that when I said I was doing you mom that I was only joking. I would never do your mom.

Gabriel,
Sounds like a touch of inverse Stockholm Syndrome to me. Best advice is to kill the beast now so there is only one story to tell. (hey, free legal advice!)
While I hesitate to order a gross of broom’s for tonight’s game…like someone here in the Hasek did, I must say it’s been fun here in Denver. Nevertheless, whatever happens tonight, I doubt we will be back.
Time to whack a few golf balls (man they fly in the altitude!) and settle in for the game.

Hockey Town Todd - I agree with you. The Wings were very sloppy and Osgood was not sharp (well except when he absolutely had to be at the very end of the game.) Chelios was running around way too much and two too many men on the ice penalties in a row is careless. They could have been busted for that at least one other time. I wouldn’t be surprised if this goes at least five so that NBC gets their game for Saturday afternoon.
