Bitterness Abounds

So, we’ve seen a glimpse of the MSM today and I’ll bring you more because I know you demand it.  But, we’ll also make time for my peers.  This is going to shock and hurt you, but I have to say it.

Yes, there are people out there—fans and bloggers—who don’t want the Red Wings to win the Stanley Cup.  Shhhh, it’s ok. I know.  Please…don’t.  It’s ok.

So many to choose from, so much angst and—yep—jealousy.  It is the one common thread, seemingly, that binds about thirty blogs together this week.

Spin the wheel…and let’s begin where all Michigan hatred starts:  Ohio.

...let me just make it abundantly clear that I want to see the Wings crash and burn in a miserably embarassing display of pathetic play against the Ducks. I do not want Hockeytown to win the Stanley Cup this season.

Easy…settle. Michael makes some decent points once he blows off his Wing-hating steam.  He references a few Wing bloggers and our complaints about a Wing organ-I-zation so completely out of touch that they’re losing fans hand over fist.  But, as is usual with The Bitter, he gets back down to business.

Besides ... I can’t be the only one here who would like to see a new team win the Cup now that three of the four remaining teams have never won one, right?

Yep. Give us Carolina. Give us Tampa.  Give us an Edmonton team that blazes through the playoffs last year then jettisons their team as usual.  That’s exactly what we need.

Jes Golbez, like Michael, offers some decent analysis then falls back on what truly backbones his prediction of a Duck six-game victory.

Given the Ducks amazing defence, goaltending, and superior special teams, I’m going to have to call this series in their favour. That, and the Red Wings suck!

Astute.

Oh, and hey, if Golbez hadn’t made his feelings known up to this point, this ought to do it.
