Blake On Chelios

Remember the comments official Wing spokesman Chris Chelios made regarding Rob Blake last week?  Well, Blake has responded….kinda.

Inside the Kings

Last week, Red Wings defender Chris Chelios said this of Rob Blake in an interview on a Detroit radio station: “He’s in a situation there where there’s just no end at the light of the tunnel and he’s lost his drive right now. I’ve been there. I talked to him last time we played him, and he would love to come here.”

Blake’s response: “I don’t know if that’s exactly what was said, so I’ll leave it at that.”

Blake said he wasn’t upset at all with Chelios for making the comments. When I asked if there’s any truth to him losing his drive, he gave a long ``Well ...,’’ then said he was still trying and he didn’t know any more he can say about that.

boy Chelios really started a minor s**t storm with this, he might want to save a bit of face and reiterate his comment? i appreciate captain America’s candor, and god knows he’s earned the right to say what he wants, but, honestly, blake is kind of looking bad here too. what kind of player would we (or anyone) be getting who walks out on his team that he considers his home and can’t even put on a positve face for the press even if C.C. talked out of school.

TV doesn’t do Blake justice. Seeing him play in person, he’s HUGE. D men like him command respect when they are on the ice, otherwise it’s lights out. With his active stick and first pass he would be an asset to any team.

Lord help us if Detroit gets a hold of him.

we’d be getting a ridiculously talented defenseman who just wants to WIN.  and we would.  adding Blake to our lineup would make us a sure thing.

I don’t have any problem with a player who says “hey, I’m loyal to my team, but I’m realistic and I’m not going to win a Cup here…so I want to go somewhere where I will.”

The Wings are the new Lakers.  Can Shaq skate?

Can Shaq skate?

Imagine if he could!!! He’d be the only one Sasquatch wouldn’t be able to blind-side, elbow up.
