Can You Watch It Yet?

It’s been twenty days.
Long enough?
This morning was the first time I could bring myself to watch this. And despite all that followed it in the coming days?
It still hurts more than a little.
I don’t think I’m being greedy or ungrateful when I say that still makes me want to throw up in my mouth a little.
I’m going back on vacation.

To all whose hearts have been broken lately:
Look on the bright side…
You could be stuck in a marriage where there is no love, affection, romance, etc. that you cant get out of for many reasons.
I know a guy.

Tigers in rain delay tied 5-5… gear sale sounds cool but I bet it is expensive… thanks George.

Kulfan says that as Lilja likes living in Novi and knows that being a 6/7 guy in Detroit is way better than being a 3/4 guy in, say, Miami, he’ll sign a one or two-year deal
Of all the people to be smart about his career it has to be that tool. yay.
Some other philosophical notes: I went to see “The Love Guru” with my cousin for his birthday and it was gawd awful. I know “SHOCKA” ...but seriously, it was torturous. There were three redeeming things though. 1) Some of the “zoomed out” hockey sequences were cool; fancy stick work that you could actually see a player like Crosby pull off. 2) Jessica Alba :drool: 3) Pretty good about pointing out the cliches of quasi-spiritual, self-help garbage.
4) Stephen Colbert playing a drugged out announcer!
I think I smiled a few times.
and Phoebe, if you’re reading this, or any other Wu-Tang fans for that matter, they have a delicious quote from GZA.

You can get out of anything if you want to bad enough.
The wings did it with Hatcher and Whitney. Those overpaid right before the cap contracts.

they did have to pay through the nose to get out from under those contracts. Could have been worse like Holik’s 9 million dollar deal.

had to look it up
You know it, Gramps. Just keeping the Irish (Gaelic) thing going. Your comments about Kierkegaard made me laugh out loud, though. Keep up the good work.
That’s why it is a mountain that is climbed a lot as an adventure - no pitons or ropes required.
It’s one of those little intrigues of mountaineering that on just about every continent, the highest peak is far easier to ascend than the second-highest. The most obvious relationship is Mt. Everest vs. K2, but this holds true in Africa, where Kilimanjaro is a broad volcanic shield, and Mt. Kenya is a jagged crest of naked rock. Seven Summits vs. Second Summits strikes again.
If memory serves me correctly she also said
It does serve you correctly. Of course, for those whose hearts are aching she had these words:
RESUME
Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acids stain you;
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren’t lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live.
Oh, and here’s your fun hockey-related thought for the day. George Friedrich Handel and Jimi Hendrix were next-door neighbors, three centuries apart. The places where they lived in London, both bearing plaques, are one of the strangest historical juxtapositions out there. And it’s barely a stone’s throw from the shop where Lord Stanley bought The Cup.
Handel, Hendrix, and The Cup. Makes ya think…

Chief its March 20th and I just watched the Wings beat the Thrashers in Atlanta. Out of boredom I was reading your old posts and stumbled across this one. Just so you know, Game 1,2,4,5, and 6 are still on my DVR at home. Guess which one hasnt been re-watched even once. I cant take it, and this years playoffs are right around the corner. Just wanted to share my misery.

About Abel to Yzerman
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that. Your suggestions and critiques are welcome:

Does confusion make you sad? When you read words like "enigma" and phrases like "Thanks Gary. Ass", do you wonder why mean people speak in languages you don't understand? Fret no longer friend! The A2Y Glossary will bring you great joy and enlightenment.

How Others View The A2Y 19
"Hell, I guarantee the content co-opters at Abel to Yzerman were about to link this article under the heading “Bitter Blues Fans” again right up until they just read that last half-sentance. Thanks but no thanks, you Kukla hangers-on."
--St. Louis Game Time
"I realize it’s the slow summer season, but can this guy tone down the tough-guy histrionics? His posts are fatiguing on an otherwise excellent site."
--A2Y Fan, Eternal_Fields
"I constantly marvel at how Bill (IwoCPO) and his disciples at Abel To Yzerman can be so pompous and full of themselves throughout every regular season, but come playoff time they collapse into wavering puddles of stress and nervousness as they anxiously await the impending and unavoidable collapse of the Red Wings in the post-season."
--Mile High Hockey
"I hate them because they are better than us. Of all the frigging teams…"
--In The Cheap Seats
"It's just a shame that the most classless, uneducated, lowbrow fanbase in the league gets this sweep. Red Wing fans don't deserve their team."
--Thhom
"I really don’t care what fans or bloggers think."
--Drew Sharp
"Why is it you Detroit fans are still so classless when you have such a classy hockey team, with such a professional GM and gentlemen players? I understand that the author of this blog is a manner-less cad, but the rest of you should be better."
--A2Y Fan, Jeff Beaumont
"Have you ever *read* A2Y? Its the most opinionated, juvenile stuff i've read."
--Paul Nicholson
"I actually like the Detroit team and have a sh&% load of respect for them, but their fans are the biggest douches next to Canadians."
--KStewy, PensBlog Commenter
"Just when it looks like we have bottomed out, the 19 hit a new low."
-A2Y legend, Hockeytown Todd
"And for the record, I don't hate the Red Wings, I hate their fans."
--Douche Bag at Puck Daddy who isn't Wyshynski
"You’re nothing but a douchebag ****, c3po. Go f**k yourself, and learn something about hockey in the process. Nothing ruins my day more than seeing your byline on the kk page."
--Hector, A2Y fan, statesman, Pittsburgh Chapter of Jonas Brothers Fan Club President
"I can just imagine the kindergarten teacher’s reaction when the tyke blurts out 'Mommy says Gary Bettman is a f*cking f*ckface! He wants to give ‘Rosby the bad touch.' ”
--Bella, of the 19
"A2Y is what other blog sites aspire to be when they fail to grow up: intelligent immaturity for the juvenile genius set”

Kay, according to St. James, Chelios is likely to return, Holland won’t reiterate his “slightly less than $3.5 million” a year offer to Stuart until he tells the Wings’ trainers what’s wrong with his shoulder (Stuart is seeing a specialist today), McCarty and Downey will probably be offered contracts, though at least one will have to accept a two-way deal...Kulfan says that as Lilja likes living in Novi and knows that being a 6/7 guy in Detroit is way better than being a 3/4 guy in, say, Miami, he’ll sign a one or two-year deal, but Khan says that Drake has yet to decide whether he’s going to retire, the Wings want to give Derek Meech, who was named the team’s rookie of the year on Wednesday, more playing time, he’ll probably match any offer for Valtteri Filppula if somebody tosses him a RFA offer sheet, Kenny’s probably going to wait until the market settles down to see if he can find a veteran goaltender who’s willing to back up Osgood for less than the $1.7 million Osgood’s earning (probably a lot less), and yes, the Wings are looking for a second-line forward.
There’s also a gear sale at the Joe on Saturday, prospect camp will take place between the seventh and eleventh or sixth and twelfth of July, depending on who you believe, and the Wings apparently just signed Sergei Kolsov/Sirhei Kolasau (Belorussian =/= Cyrillic) to a two-year deal.
