A few issues. First, I’ve decided Live Blogs for road games will feature lyrics specific to the state in which the Wings are playing. Oh, I know. It’s nutty. But that’s who I am.
Secondly, I’ve decided to decree something. I’m not sure if I spelled “decree” correctly, but decreeing I am. Any game in which the Wings are outshot, I’m decreeing it a loss. And my decree will be so public as to snap the Wings out of their bowls of milk (hangovers).
It’s a Live Blog bitches. A post-hangover Live Blog featuring the guy who’s picked against the Wings in practically every series the last five years. Your thoughtful prose is welcome, along with your courtesy and restraint (Stones reference).

UGH, I am leaving, tail between legs.

I hate that rule. It was going to be a goal before he kicked anyway…I don’t want to win on a technicality. I want to win because of a dominant performance.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 11/13/08 at 10:00 PM ET
Bullshit call. The puck hadn’t crossed the line by the time it was kicked in. I’d like to hear the league’s ruling about this one.

Jesus Gary. Ass. Why even have replay if you can’t overturn that? Was there no overhead camera?

I’m pretty sure, JJ, that they’ll claim it wasn’t a distinct kicking motion. The fact that the puck would probably have gone in the net anyway helps them with the claim, but hell. I’m more pissed that the Wings are giving up goals like that in the first place. Ugh.
Posted by clemshady from Greenwood, SC on 11/13/08 at 10:02 PM ET
The goal didn’t go to whoever kicked it in. They’re saying it was in before he kicked it…and it wasn’t

Spot on old boy.

About time someone went down to block a shot. That’s what they needed.

Did Hossa giving that guy a pigg-back ride.

C’mon 2 points in regulation.
I cant believe I have to beg for that against TB.
JFC.
Posted by MOWingsfan19 on 11/13/08 at 10:06 PM ET
Wow, not often a home-team feed will give the opposition credit for dishing out the check of the game. Guess there was no choice other than the Kronner hit though.
Posted by J.J. from Kansas on 11/13/08 at 10:08 PM ET
Rick Tocchet on the bench in TB too. One more reason to hate them.

According to these refs, Vinny bleeds at the presence of a stiff breeze. Sheesh.
Posted by clemshady from Greenwood, SC on 11/13/08 at 10:08 PM ET
OK was it just me or was that the butt end of Rafalskis stick that hit Vinny?
Posted by ITDeuce from The Land of Ice and Snow on 11/13/08 at 10:09 PM ET
Not perfect, but its a step in the right direction.

Phillies/Pens in the final minute of OT
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 11/13/08 at 10:10 PM ET
You know, I’m still not that happy about this win. They’re looking better, but giving up three goals on 13 shots isn’t exactly top notch work. The 13 shots allowed is more like it, definitely.
Posted by monkey from here to Timbuktu on 11/13/08 at 10:10 PM ET
Seriously… on every replay on FSN Detroit it looked like it was Raf’s stick.

Not a loss by scoreboard standard.
Not a loss by shot differential standard.
So why do I feel like we got away with one?
Posted by J.J. from Kansas on 11/13/08 at 10:11 PM ET
I dunno, Deuce. The angles are from pretty far away that it looks like it could just as easily be the puck.
Posted by clemshady from Greenwood, SC on 11/13/08 at 10:12 PM ET
Serious question here, did Lebda play in the third period?

Yeah, I’ll buy that. Goofy call be the ref’s for sure. Mick was right. If it doesn’t move out of the zone, then there has to be a high stick call.

I’m with you. I feel dirty.

Deuce, I was thinking the same thing. Hard to tell really as the puck passed his head at the same time the end of Rafi’s stick came up to that area. It would explain why Lecavalier got all pissy after the whistle.

Man, my grammar is terrible. Must be the Leinie’s.

Wings interview after the game with Franzen and the Mule has on the red winter classic hat. Looks sweet!

Joey MacDonald was the #2 star in the Islanders 3-1 win over Ottawa.

If I had to call it I would say it was Rafi’s stick. But from those angles, it really is impossible to say for sure.
Dan
Ha! Ken and Mick were just picking on the ASS. Saying he want’s “competitive balance”.

What’s the final on the Flyers Pens game?
Posted by ITDeuce from The Land of Ice and Snow on 11/13/08 at 10:20 PM ET
Wasn’t it? Richards should have buried that thing.

Sudden death shootout. Onto the 6th shooter, I think. No scoring in the shootout yet.
