Screw it. I’m fine. I’ll be just fine. Starting something new and we’ll continue it throughout the playoffs. Each day I’m going to determine which A2Y reader (of the 19) was the most brilliant, most juvenile, most something.
Today’s is short, simple, to the point and yet slightly confusing. How appropriate that it should come from AndrewfromAnnArbor.

God bless my mother-in-law because it’s 14:30 and I’m already drunk.

You know it TeamDub. My biceps, quads, and glutes are burning right now… [insert homosexual joke here].

Thuper!
I’ll hold off on “inserting” any “homosexual” jokes until O-Joe shows up.
I’m a freakin’ wreck today, I simply cannot believe the playoffs are upon us.

‘Screw it. I’m fine. I’ll be just fine.’-an obvious call for help?
Not weight lifting today, but I agree with TeamDub. All this anxiety kinda makes you feel more alive. You notice things, like birds outside and the sun shining and how complex the universe really is and how grand things are. God help me, I’m losing it already…Drop the puck before I write a poem or sell everything I own to live in the wild.

Can’t concentrate…have deadline to meet…how many hours until the puck drops? Where’s the vodka?

Huh?
Did someone say “juvenile?”
Posted by O-Joe on 04/10/08 at 10:24 AM ET
TeamDub, thanks for that. Laughing so hard I’m crying. ‘Dooks?’ Can’t see real good, is that Bill Shakespeare over there?
Posted by AndreB from TN on 04/10/08 at 10:25 AM ET
Oops. Too many pixels wide.
Let me go fix that.
Stand by…
Posted by O-Joe on 04/10/08 at 10:26 AM ET
Well hello, O-Joe - good to see you back to provide some high-brow commentary.
See you stressed out suckers for tonight’s tilt… 20 minutes ‘til I crack the first PBR.

Whew!
Glad I was able to downsize that.
Wouldn’t want to be in violation of the rules and get banned again like last year.

I saw that post from “The Highlander” too TD, but KHAN! and Kulfan suggest that Downey may get the spot on the 4th line. Kulfan has quotes from Babcock after today’s practice:
The only decision coach Mike Babcock said he had was to decide between Darren McCarty and Aaron Downey for a spot on the fourth line. “I’ll let you know after warm up,” Babcock said. “That’s the only decision I haven’t made.”

“Filppula-Franzen-Cleary”
Anybody know when Cleary takes off the jaw guard? He has been mostly invisible since he came back wearing that thing. Seems a lot of players end up this way and the instant they take it off they go on a tear. Now would be a good time for him to go on a tear…or maybe in a few weeks.

Don’t know, but I think it’s mostly attributable to loss of timing since he’s been off. Pluss he still is down some weight, so I’m sure he isn’t up to his normal stamina yet. He certainly hasn’t shied away from contact or crowed areas, that’s for sure (except in the last game, where everyone was concentrating on not doing anything stupid and getting themselves hurt).
With as many plates and screws as he needed inserted, there is no point in taking any chances.

GABE!
Real life has been a tad hectic to say the very least… been saving up my energy for teh playoffs.
So, good to “see” everyone, liveblog or chat tonight?
Enquiring minds, yadda, yadda
Posted by TeamDub from The gratch. on 04/10/08 at 11:53 AM ET
Err, or inquiring minds, even.
Wow, and I’m not even drunk - yet.
Posted by TeamDub from The gratch. on 04/10/08 at 11:55 AM ET
I’d rather have Home Keyz than William Tell, but trust in Uncle Mike. Bring it on!

Anybody know when Cleary takes off the jaw guard?
I thought he was going to be keeping that on throughout the playoffs.

Baroque - it’s going… slowly.
So far we’ve managed to set a date - July 4, 2009.
Plenty of time for me to spruce up the passport and flee.
Heh.

About Abel to Yzerman
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
