mixed emotions here.  I don’t like to see us this flat, but I would love to see them clinch in person at home.

we had virtually no chances for two periods how can we expect to win?

If I have to listen to anymore games on VS I will not make it thru the finals.  Where do they find these people?  Give me Mickey any day.

Short of winning the Cup, raising the Prince of Wales Trophy on Philadelphia ice
would be one of the more memorable moments not only in Penguin history, but Pittsburgh sports history, and possibly in the history of mankind.

A random penalty generator would have done a better job.

Well, that was a wake-up call.  Hope the team takes it to heart.

Now back to the building where Turckey’s never won a game.

How angry will they be about that?  How much fire will that translate into?  Just how quickly will they come out flying?

NASN’s gone straignt to Tony Kornheiser and Mike Wilmot, and my dish hasn’t cut out, which means I need to go to bed.

As far as I’m concerned, game 5 won’t actually be game 5. It will be a do-over of game 4 where Detroit is given home-ice advantage to make up for the awful mistake that was made in the “game 4” that will no longer exist in the NHL record books.

Can’t wait to hear what Little Gary says about the play. I’m sure he’ll say that it looked like major interference from his seat.

Know why we’ll finish this at the Joe?

Cause we won’t have to play in a kiddy swimming pool. That was some of the worst ice and refereeing I’ve seen in a while. Babbles, however, will not take any of that; right on.

I know it is bad form to whine about the officiating after a loss but getting hosed out of two goals?  And when the Dallas guy was holding Lebda’s stick for about 20 seconds?  The slashing, hooking, holding and interference by Dallas in this game was ridiculous. Bah.  Ah well, shake it off and I’m still on the stress train.  Hopefully on some better ice the Wings won’t be over-skating all those passes.

Credit to Dallas for bringing their game but I still despise that punk a%^ Ott and Brendan Morrow makes me puke.

Agreed on Buckets, Orst.  Prediction was just a game early, that’s all.

And with last change, Tippett’s prison rape strategy on the Flying Circus ain’t likely to work nearly as well as it did tonight.

We better show up, though.

Meh.

I’ll say this, though…had Holmstrom’s goal stood, as it obviously should have, this series is over.  Turco would’ve gone fetal mentally and let in at least three more.

I usually don’t buy into conspiracy theories, but seeing Gary stand there—obviously on a foot stool—makes it so much easier to believe that this schmuck wanted this series to go longer. Anyone know if Gary will be in Philadelphia for the ECF’s game 4?

You know, I understand Bettman wanting to save the Dallas Pro Wrestlers the humilation of a sweep but JESUS, they could have at least tried to disguise the blatant non-calls.

Disgusting.

Bettman will probably be in Philly for Game 4 to award the Prince of Wales Trophy to the Pens when they win, because Gary said Sidney needs time off while the Wings get hosed.

Crush the Stars in Game 5. This game should piss off every player in red and white.

Take the game out of the refs hands on the better ice at JLA by scoring many goals.  They were cornered and responded.  There is no stress, the train rolls on without me.

Don’t know if anyone mentioned this or not, but no Game 5 would have meant that the Wings jipped (sp?) NBC out of two games—one vs. Colorado and one vs. Dallas. And we couldn’t have that now, could we, Gary?

The non-calls were absolutely rampant tonight. Versus was even showing them as “highlights” during breaks in the action. Guess they think Morrow slew-footing Flip is a good hockey play at the official cable home of bull riding. Come to think of it, hog-tying is about the only thing I didn’t see a Dallas player do to a Wing tonight.

Man, I was too bummed about the game to even say anything until now. I guess the bright side is that maybe it’ll keep the Wings from getting complacent for the Cup final. Not to jinx anything, I wouldn’t want to initiate some kind of massive choke. God damn it though. What a frustrating game.

Posted by scheisskopf on 05/14/08 at 10:31 PM ET

Think of it this way… It is now the Wings turn to respond to some adversity.  Game 5 will be a statement game. The Wings will either a)grab this bitch (series) by the throat and convince themselves and the hockey world they are on a mission or b)allow Senior to regain momentum and prolong the series.  My belief is they will choose to make a statement.  Uncle Mike knows this was ‘one of those games’, not gonna get a lot of calls going your way.  I loved his reaction to the Homer interference.  To paraphrase, “I don’t mind a penalty call… just don’t make stuff up”.  CLASSIC

PLEASE DISREGARD MY PREVIOUS POST!  Of COURSE I’m stressed after that last game.  If it hadn’t been for my ‘astronaut Depends’ the back right corner of the Hasek Club Car might have become… shall we say ‘moist’.  I’m so nervous that I’m considering self-catheterization.  But then again, I won’t have to get out of the barc-o-lounger for the entire game.  Damn, I hate the playoffs.

Y’know, I can honestly say that I never really disliked Turco.  Never thought of him as a bad character.  Nutty goalie, with his own bogey team and an otherwise pretty good record?  Sure.  But goalies like that are a dime a dozen.  Never felt the real hate for him, the distaste reserved for guys like Sasquatch and Parker.

Notice I wrote all that in past tense.  Now?

Said Turco: “I couldn’t move freely to make that save on the shot. I really don’t think it’s a bad call. I don’t think it’s black and white like it used to be. It’s the referee’s discretion.”

Jesus.  Is THAT why he’s CLEARLY MOVING FREELY in the replay?  He missed the save, that’s all, and got lucky with the refs.  There’s no need to embellish it, make it sound like he had it if it hadn’t been for Big Bad Holmstrom and His Massive Ass.  He’s lying through his teeth, pushing an altered history, and whining about it to boot.

If he’d taken the gift and kept his trap shut, it would have been still the same ol’ Turco.  Good goalie with Wings problems.  But in this series he’s been exhibiting more and more lack of character and honor.  He’s earned himself a nickname—Turckey.  And capped off by this, well…

Welcome to the *#$%@& Gallery, Turckey.  On your left is Sasquatch, on your right Sheriff Chaps-And-Hat-And-Nothing-Else.  Enjoy your stay.
