Bad idea. He’s a 35+ aged vet. Why would Holland even consider a multi-year deal? If Chelios is happy with his year-to-year arrangement, it ought to be good enough for Drapes too. This takes the loyalty thing a bit too far.

There is no one else I’d rather have take a face-off deep in the Wings zone. More years hopefully means less money. I’m happy to see him scoring some too.

Things are clicking for Drapes so far this season and I hope it stays that way. Contract year or not, he is worth the money he’s paid because 1. the 115% he brings to every game, game after game after game. 2. Face offs. He’s what in the TOP 10 in the NHL??? HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE IN THE LEAGUE??? 3. He is a DEFENSIVE forward, Selkey winner and one of 5 left from the last cup. He’s got play off experience and well blah blah blah blah blah. Y’all know his story. It’s like trying to Pronger to understand he’s taller then everyone else in the league. 
DRAPES is worth a 2 year contract. I wouldn’t go 4 like this last time,(he’d be almost 40) though he signed this last deal just before the lock out. I"m sure Uncle Kenny and MR. I will work things out. HUSTLE SPEED and a GREAT FACE OFF STICK! If he scores goals (more then 5) it’s a great year! Be funny for DRAPES and HANK to be in the Selke race the same season huh? Yea I know I"m dreamin, but that’s what dreams are for.
