Proving once again that my role in this organization is administrative at best.
It’s a Live Blog. Spearheaded by Lightfoot, again.
But with a whole new sponsor.

It’s that kind of magic that’s going to keep the Swine Flu away and also set fire to the bad spirits that have been following Rejuvinoozi.

Well, when we were down 4-0 I predicted, in my own mind, that we were going to win 9-8, so I missed a little bit. Somehow I was let down after another redonk shootout but if you’ve ever been happy just to get 1 point then last night was probably it.
I’m sticking with my post 2 days ago about the best forwards so far, and Bert will get a hat trick.
Hope Fil injury is not serious, maybe there’s already word (up!). He’s been consistently good, but Dats and Z are getting back into shape.

If it’s any consolation, the B-jacks are beating Pissberg 1-0 in the 1st.

Hey all,
My girlfriend is coming in from Germany tonight so I don’t think I’ll be able to comment too much for the next little bit. We’re going to the game against the Bruins though, which will be awesome (I hope).
See you soon.

We should have sacrificed Osrt when we had the chance.

Oh and also happy belated to Guilherme, don’t know why I brain lapsed that one.
Regarding sitting Leino, I’m all for it. Also, for some reason, when reading that post about the potential lines for tomorrow, part of me really thinks the Z/Cleary/Williams line will go off. There’s just something that makes me think that line could be really *#$%@& potent.

Well they say the first step to fixing a problem is recognizing that you have one. From Khan(!):
“We need better goaltending. We need our (defense) to not be turning the puck over so much, we need the forwards to quit sticking a fork in each other by turning it over at the blue line,” Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said. “We might as well throw the coaching staff in there as well. When the team’s (not) prepared, you must not be doing a good job either.”
Babcock liked the way Detroit rallied the past two games after falling behind, winning 5-4 in Vancouver and losing 6-5 in a shootout in Edmonton. But he said catch-up hockey is losing hockey that leads to turnovers.
The team stressed making simple plays to avoid giveaways during Friday’s practice at the Saddledome.
“As much as I’m proud of the guys in how hard they worked and how we were able to come back and get a point (Thursday), that can’t be us or we’ll have no success,” Babcock said. “You don’t have to force anything. If there’s no play, get it out (of your zone) and get it behind (their defense) and get to work.”

Shit. Amen Babcock.

They’ve been admitting that for the past season now. When are they going to stop mentioning their mistakes and start fixing them? For God’s sake, how many times do you have to try throwing the puck up the boards with just enough effort to get it out only to have it blocked before you realize that doesn’t work?

Me likey Uncle Mikey. He knows some of the problems on the ice are a symptom of inadequate coaching. I like the way he takes responsibility for the mess. The man is smart and will get it right. I can see how much he hates to lose. I think he takes it more personally than the Team.

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
