Evidence That I’m Losing It

I’m actually going to pay the Detroit News a compliment.  Nah, not really. They’re liveblogging the game.  Dana Wakiji and Terry Foster.

Wakiji

Guess who I rode up with in the elevator?
Here’s a clue: they held the elevators for them. Yes, it’s the owners of the Red Wings and Tigers, Mike and Marian Ilitch. Mrs. I asked if I was staying the night since I had a wheeling computer case with me. I’m just hoping it’s not actually the whole night, as in the Canucks and Stars.

And Foster, Wing expert extraordinaire?

There are plenty of folks down here at Hockey town Cafe getting ready for the Red Wings game against the Calgary Flames.
They are dressed in Red Wing home and road jerseys. There is a woman walking around with Red Wings ribbons in her hair and high red sox. People are dressed the part but they seem subdued.

And the sidewalks have lines in them every two feet, and the clouds look puffy, but not scary and the wheels on the cars are all moving in a counterclockwise direction, and the…

I guess Foster’s back on the bandwagon, too.  I seem to recall he’d sworn off the Red Wings…

Terry Foster/Detroit News—Oct. 30th, 2006

And guess what? The Red Wings are no longer one of my guilty pleasures. I have not watched an entire game since the playoffs last season. I watch Dancing with the Stars more often than the Wings.

Back on the guilty pleasure gravy train Terry?  Oh, that’s right.  The playoffs are here.

thought about it Matt, but the few times I’ve tried that were failures.  I know my limitations.

Terry Foster doesn’t know wtf he’s talking about.  His rantings are overly negative and have no basis in reality.

He said in one of his articles that the fact that there were only seven people in line for tickets proved that there was less interest in the Wings.  After I pointed out to him another Detroit News article that explained the reason for that is because over 90% of Wings ticket sales are now online, his response was “I don’t buy it.”  I guess the Wings front office can’t be trusted to tell the truth about how people buy their tickets.  Wow.
