Thought it might be time to take a quick break from the hockey talk and show you guys something I just received in the mail. It’s graduation season all over the country, and up north too. I remember mine, more than twenty years ago and I also remember the good friends I had.
I wish we’d taken the time to get photos taken, because there are relationships that deserve to be remembered for all time.
Relationships like this one.

Why do they call Malkin “Geno” anyways? Shouldn’t it be “Geni?” Pronounced “Jenny” of course.

We have at least one Jenny here. She doesn’t deserve to have her good name dragged through the mud in such a way. Besides, from what I gather from her posts, she’s involved with roller derby, which leads me to suspect she could kick Malkin’s ass.

Just as a heads up, that image began as a McGuire/Mike Richards photoshop on the LGP board during the Flyers series when Richards spent an entire game talking about Richards’ leadership in leading the league in leading leadership. That said, no surprise it has been adapted, all’s fair in love and photoshops.

Okay, not to get into conspiracy theories, but I will say that the refs not calling the too many men call on the Pens was absurd. You can say that the Wings got away with things, but the refs obviously overlooking that call was just terrible. Even though I’ve only played on high school and a bit in college, I can recall games where you knew if a certain ref had a bias against a team or a player. It’s human nature and it happens. But whatever, these things can “even out”, and we’ll see what happens tonight.
What does get to me is the NHL’s obsession with Crosby, the Pens, and other “young” players and teams in the NHL. You hardly ever see the Wings featured on any NHL advert. Also, it ticks me off that after avoiding a sweep on some questionable officiating, the story in the media is “oh my God! Here come the Penguins!” Don’t believe me, check out ESPN’s NHL home page this morning. Five stories on the pens, none on the Wings.

Thanks, Chief for easing the stress. The ramp-up to SCF game times ALWAYS seem to become progressively ssslllloooooooowwwweeeerrrrrrr, as if there are 140 second minutes and 80 minute hours.
