Hugely important evening in our world.
The gutters have been overflowing the last few weeks with your obscenity and grade-school humor. How could a family-oriented, well-intentioned, mild-mannered hockey blog turn into something so immature, so reeking of juvenistickidness?
I just don’t know.
Tonite, you begin the process of electing your champion. Watch the remarks closely, stay awake, don’t pass out drooling on your keyboard (Osrt)...and make your recommendations along the way for the five comments we’ll vote on tomorrow.
It’s a Live Blog bitches. A big, fat, west coast live blog.

Anaheim needs to find their happy place. Too bad Disneyland sucks.
Posted by VooX from Behind the Bar in the Hasek Club Car on 01/15/09 at 12:09 AM ET
As Ken Daniels just noted, the Wings were owed that one.

Must be an Avon call from that game earlier this year. I’ll take it.
Posted by clemshady from Greenwood, SC on 01/15/09 at 12:11 AM ET
VooX, Cleary cant move. No trade clause till the last year or so of his contract.
Franzen is the only one alowed to make highstick goals. i like it.
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 01/15/09 at 12:11 AM ET
Way to go VooX, now talk about trading Zetterberg and maybe he will score.
Posted by HockeyTownTodd on 01/15/09 at 12:12 AM ET
What’s left? 9? Chances the Wings hold this lead?
Slim.

Toronto War Room: Who cares? *#$%@& the Ducks.
Ref: Agreed.
Posted by J.J. from Kansas on 01/15/09 at 12:12 AM ET
What the heck we’re scoring goals
Posted by Tyler from Arizona on 01/15/09 at 12:12 AM ET
Gary. Ass. Must have been preoccupied as to not have gotten the call.
Every damn goal that lovely bastard the Mule scores makes this whole Hossa-Z-Mule thing so much more “interesting”.
Posted by MOWingsfan19 on 01/15/09 at 12:13 AM ET
9:00 minutes left. I’m still nervous.

Even strength ones at that Tyler
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 01/15/09 at 12:13 AM ET
This just means that we’re looking at a 5-on-3 for the Ducks before it’s said and done.
Posted by clemshady from Greenwood, SC on 01/15/09 at 12:13 AM ET
We have to keep taking it to them. DO not give them anything to go on! I do not want to see another 5-4 ot game, losing to a very inferior team!

getzlaf just missed a pass that could have been a ducks goal. i bet dats would have completed it on his backhand, with his eyes closed while sasquatch was throwing an elbow in his back
Posted by ckittle from Durham, New Hampshire on 01/15/09 at 12:15 AM ET
So before the Wings decided to score two, Ken said something about Meech back on D in place of Lebda with Lilja. Is Lebda hurt?
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 01/15/09 at 12:17 AM ET
Looks like Lebda is at the end of the bench by Conks. Probably figured Meech is playing better.
Posted by clemshady from Greenwood, SC on 01/15/09 at 12:18 AM ET
best save I’ve seen from Osgood in a long, loooong time!
Posted by PaulinMiamiBeach on 01/15/09 at 12:19 AM ET
Has there been any talk about bad ice? Something doesn’t seem right in the Poultry’s end.
Posted by The Hurricane on 01/15/09 at 12:20 AM ET
Damn, that was too close.
Posted by WingsFanInBeanLand from Lidstrom's head telling him 1 more year on 01/15/09 at 12:20 AM ET
nice save ozzie. of course, leave it to him to turn an easy high glove save into a shoulder deflection to nerve wracking mess in the crease
Posted by ckittle from Durham, New Hampshire on 01/15/09 at 12:20 AM ET
Datsyuk’s dekes are hanging the Niedermeyer (Hardly) Boys out to dry causing their jocks to be strewn around the arena like mama Niedermeyer is doing laundry in the stands.
Osgood checks in to the game with 5:00 minutes left in the third to make a great save. Better late than never to get a good goalie in between the pipes, unless it’s May then it’s too late.

Maltby’s salary: $883,333

Look at that emotion from Franzen. I’ll send it to Minnesota.

Came close to mentioning that in my Maltby post Gramps. But I’d already used like three statistics and was dizzy.
