Franz-In?

As some frigging genius pointed out earlier…if Mule’s practicing tomorrow, he’s playing Saturday.

Well, he’s practicing.  St. James said the logical conclusion is....

The Wings say he is still day-to-day, but since he can get in practice tomorrow and the morning skate Saturday, the odds seem good he will in fact play Saturday night. Babcock said earlier in the week that as soon as Franzen is cleared, he’ll play.

Thanks to Tdeters for the pointer.

halle-MULE-ah, again…

with the miraculous mule on the second line, we will be giving fits to the under-experienced Penguins D.

oh and before all the PensBloggers jump on him for his concussion… he had two hat tricks with his bell rung.

let’s see how Sid the Kid fares after a quick introduction to a Kronwall shoulder/elbow.

So should we expect one or two periods before he’s back in the swing of things?  Or do you guys think he can step right in and be as effective?  I’m thinking the confidence he gives Flip (that’s what I call him) will be tremendous.  Hopefully, he and Buckets just dish to the guy all night Saturday.  This is great news!

Good.  My kids have been wondering when the mule with the skates on adorning our living room wall is going to show up again.  But mule or no mule, this thing is ours in 5 games.
We all know there should be a couple more Cups that the Red Wings should have won during this wonderful stretch of years.  They will not be denied this year.  Baby Boy, Little Gary. Ass, and MSM can go you know where.

I’m trying not to get too worked up, but at this point, it’s useless.  Saturday morning I will grace the traditional White House roller hockey game with my 1997 Fedorov jersey, the same one worn during the 2002 cup clinching game against Carolina.  I like to think of myself as Zetterberg and “always face the puck.”

The excitement will lead up to the evening, when I get ready to watch Game 1…..only to go to some restaurant at precisely 8 PM to celebrate some birthday of a friend of my fiancee.  Ah domestic bliss.  I defy the looks of dissapproval as I check my blackberry throughout dinner!

I am a complete tool, I know.

It will probably take him most of the first game to get his legs back under him all the way, but the Pens are going to have to make sure they watch him, or he’ll make them pay.  I’d bet Buckets gets off the schnide in game one and scores.  It’s just too bad we have to wait two more day.  Thanks, Gary.  Ass.

Yup. Here is how I avoided that situation.

Having a good feeling for a long playoff run, I informed my wife of a new “rule” at the beginning of the playoffs that all social plans are subject to me bailing out to watch the playoffs until after the Wings win the Cup.

So, we are invited to wife’s friends’ house for dinner party this Monday. When Little Gary announced the schedule, wife immediately asked, “you not sticking to that silly “rule” of yours, are you?”

I replied, “Well, you’re going to be pissed off at me for ignoring everyone at the dinner party and screaming at the “Smiths’” little 20” tv or you’re going to be pissed off at me for blowing off the dinner party and screaming at our 50” tv. And I would rather scream at our big screen.”

Besides, the “Smiths” are big Bears fans that skipped our Super Bowl party 2 yrs. ago because they wanted to watch the game; I knew they would understand.

I was right on all counts. Wife is pissed and the “Smiths” are not.

Wife is the coolest woman ever, though. Having never watched a hockey game, live or on tv, (hey it’s SoCal) her first present to me while we were dating was tickets to Wings vs. Fowl at the Pond.

Captain Dennis:
That sounds like a fine woman.  I have a choice of either incrementally making my fiancee angry during dinner by checking the blackberry every five minutes and screaming ZETTERBERG! when he scores, or ticking her off completely by announcing that I’m staying home on Saturday.  I of course will probably choose the least brave of these two options, whatever that is.

She should understand that this is the playoffs, not some rinky-dink regular season game in November.

Although I’d be right there trying to find the scores myself, so I guess I have no room to talk.  smile

Fantastic news! Lets hope he doesn’t try any spin-o-rama moves.

And for lack of a better place to put it, Japan has figured out a way to make Pee-Wee Bettman’s dreams come true.

We already have those. They use them to make cutting boards. They use that crap on floats in parades too.
Imagine Zetteryuk sliding face first on it after an overly aggressive D-man tries to make up for missing his assignment….no thanks.

By the way….Asian dudes with English accents creep me out for some reason.

And didn’t that guy they interviewed kinda look like an oriental Datsuk?

Creepy all over the place.

/yay Mule. Believe! (trying to hijack a lame a$$ Pens mantra that they stole from US!)

Zetteryuk

I prefer Zettersyuk (pronounced Zetter-zook), as coined by James Duthie in reference to the “two-headed monster” that is Hank and Pav.

It is my daughter’s birthday Monday.  Luckily, daughter is having her birthday party on Sunday with a sleepover carrying into Monday morning.  So she will be good and tired by the time Game 2 comes on.  In any case, the TiVO will be fired up if I need to watch it a bit delayed.  I still have fond memories of her first birthday for many reasons but one of them was the Wings defeating the Avs in the WCF to go on to the Cup Finals.  Hard to believe how long ago that was, she is turning 12 on Monday.
