Garage Bound For Game 3

So, the IwoCPO family’s all moved in and happy. Children are tucked away and content.

One problem: after a day of intense negotiations, cable will not be installed until tomorrow. I’m listening to the game via Sirius in a garage full of boxes.

The train is fired up and chugging, as am I. This wil be an open post all game long for those who would like to contribute.

Yeah, Bert is doing his job - big hits. Hopefully Kopecky settles down a bit…I thought he skated well with the puck. Good to see the big line get a goal on the road, and even better that the Wings’ goals were solid goals, not flukes. That was probably Homer’s longest goal all year! I wonder if the Niederstromyer hit on Giggy rattled him.

Holy crap I guess so.  Bye bye Giggy!  Go Bert!  They’re scoring faster than I can type this on my phone!

Wow, what a hit by Bertuzzi!  They will never be able to show that on TV or the internet again.  Amazing!  A sight that can only been seen to truly appreciate.

I’m also stuck listening to the game—-*really* want to see Bertuzzi hit and play well…

is it too early to think about a shutout?

This is not good. Did that look clean to everyone? Maybe an elbow, but to me Homer just got caught between to checks.

Get back up there Homer. We need you.

Go Wings!

Cut to the forehead, sounded like he went off on his own with a little help.

Penalty could have gone to either Neidermeyer or Pronger. My vote would have been Pronger with the double forearm shot to the back of the head into the glass.

Seeing the replay a couple times: yea, Pronger’s elbows straight to the head of Holmstrom, into the boards. And don’t think for a minute they didn’t know it was Homer.

Anyone think NHL will suspend Pronger rather than Niedermeyer(sp), if, by your accounts, he was more responsible for hitting Homer?

The elbow to the head has got nothing to do with it.  If it was only an elbow it would have been a roughing call.  When you send someone headfirst into the board, it is called boarding.  If you do the same on open ice, sending someone headfirst onto the ice it’s normally checking from behind.  Sure, the elbow doesn’t help but it would have been equally bad without it.

Thanks so much for the Pics. Although I can’t see Niedermeyer’s right arm on that angle, it certainly looks like Prongner was head hunting.

Ideally, they would both be suspended but that is unlikely. Isn’t a one game suspension mandatory when given a major boarding penalty? Is that only applicable in the regular season, if it is a rule at all?

Neidermeyer with a game misconduct… does that mean a suspension will be handed out?

I don’t give a rat’s sphincter whether a suspension is handed out - I want somebody to take a run at Sasquatch.

Nice to see him erupt tonight like we all know he can, but that’s not enough for me after that hit.  He gives trolls a bad name…

Yeah, two people had them, one taped to the glass. Probably another person who thinks they are the first to discover that Hasek is old.

No, but I believe it means they’ll review the play.  Will they be ball-less and ignore Pronger’s actions because he wasn’t the one penalized?  Probably.

The NHLPA got rid of Saskin.  Now it’s time for the owners to get rid of Bettman, for the good of the game.
