GDT - Game #82: Red Wings at Blackhawks (2:00)

Happy Easter everyone.  GDT light today as the family participates in Easter Sunday activities.

So, it has all come down to this. . . nothing, zero, zip, nada (of course it would be nice to end the season on a positive note, as DET have lost 2 straight and are 4-5-1 in their last ten).  Yesterdays game had all the same intensity as watching paint dry.  The only real drama being the phantom call on Kronwall resulting in the Byfuglien penalty shot.  You can argue the merits (or lack thereof) regarding the call all you want.  Babcock summed it up accurately:  “The first thing is, I’d like their player not to be behind our player with 29 seconds left. . .”  Cheli played forward because Draper was out with an “upper-body” injury and will be evaluated Monday.  Ozzie between the pipes today.  The ‘Hawks expect to receive both Samuel Pahlsson and Kris Versteeg back in their line-up, with Nikolai Khabibulin in the cage.

CHI get CGY to open the playoffs.  DET will play either ANA or CBJ depending on the result of the STL/COL game (5:00).  If STL wins, they finish in 6th place, and DET play CBJ.  IF STL lose, they finish in 8th, and DET plays ANA.

I’ve got to put on floppy ears and hide Easter Eggs for my neices and nephews; if you want to add a comment or scan the numbers, please continue.

Jeff Sagarin NHL Ratings, from USAToday.com:

To make predictions for upcoming games, simply compare the RATINGS of
the teams in question and allow an ADDITIONAL .25 goals for the home
team.  Thus, for example, a HOME team with a rating of 4.43 would be
favored by .57 goals over a VISITING team having a rating of 4.11.
Or a VISITING team with a rating of 4.56 would be favored by .42 goals
over a HOME team having a rating of 3.89

NOTE: Use whatever home advantage is listed in the output below.
In the example just above, a home edge of .25 was shown for
illustrative purposes. The home edge will vary during the season.
