Every once in a while, at Game 2, a small but vocal band of Hawk fans made their presence felt. They were in one of those overhang deals, kind of a private box in the 202 section. They’d pick and choose their spots and yell it in unison.
“Detroit sucks.”
Idiots in the crowd got angry. They swore and pointed. A few drank some more and yelled more bad things at those people. The Hawk fans laughed and taunted the idiots.
But when Dan Cleary scored to give the Wings a 2-1 lead, something strange happened. Two entire sections, hundreds of people turned at once, peered up at the Hawk fan box and waved. All at once waving. It was awesome.
And I’ll tell you this, no matter how much you hate the Hawk fans…those guys handled it well. They laughed along with us and took it. And when Sammy pooped in a box to end it, those guys shook a few hands before they left. Pretty cool.
Tonite? It won’t even be close. Tonite? If you’re a Wing fan in Chicago you’re not safe and that’s just the way it is.
Because everyone knows what this game means. Wings win and this bitch is done. Over. Hawks? Not so much.
Half a dozen to a dozen.

G-Zuss it’s sure as hell clear the refs got the call from NHL, Inc. to even this series up.

No call on Zetterberg on the breakaway. And another penalty on Detroit as the major expires. Predictable and pathetic.

Thank you, CBC, for showing that the Blackhawk defenceman stuck his stick between Zetterberg’s legs to trip him into the boards.
And the Hawks get another PP. What’s that, #86?
I was screaming when it happened. He tried to dive at the puck, didn’t hit any puck and took Z down. That should be a trip, just as the Cleary trip should that caused it all was let go.

Is this that new ‘Flag’ hockey I’ve been hearing about? If you touch the ‘Hawks it’s an automatic penalty? WTF has this league come to?

The first period was the Wings PK vs. the Hawks/Refs tagteam. The game is not out of reach. And B-fugly-in gets away with a high stick to the face at the end of the period. No call.
Dan O’Halloran was announced as an official. I told my brother the game was a lock for the Hawks, the guy is so bad he may be corrupt.

Without Kronner and with the refs seemingly in the Hawks’ back pockets, we have to play a supremely patient game. Chicago is going to make mistakes, we have got to capitalize on them.

I missed the Kronner penalty. Saw the replay tho….is Havlat at least injured? I hate to sound that much like an ass, but I want some kind of return on my friggin’ investment.

Referees in the NHL make calls or not depending on who’s ahead in a series and who’s ahead in the game. There is nothing consistent about what goes on in this league except consistent corruption.

It was a valid holding call, but if you call that, you gotta call ALL the penalties….but not phantom penalties just because someone can’t keep his head up for a clean hit.

Love the rolling picks the Hawks are running in the corners that aren’t being called. A couple have lead directly to scoring chances on the rotation.
