Every once in a while, at Game 2, a small but vocal band of Hawk fans made their presence felt. They were in one of those overhang deals, kind of a private box in the 202 section. They’d pick and choose their spots and yell it in unison.
“Detroit sucks.”
Idiots in the crowd got angry. They swore and pointed. A few drank some more and yelled more bad things at those people. The Hawk fans laughed and taunted the idiots.
But when Dan Cleary scored to give the Wings a 2-1 lead, something strange happened. Two entire sections, hundreds of people turned at once, peered up at the Hawk fan box and waved. All at once waving. It was awesome.
And I’ll tell you this, no matter how much you hate the Hawk fans...those guys handled it well. They laughed along with us and took it. And when Sammy pooped in a box to end it, those guys shook a few hands before they left. Pretty cool.
Tonite? It won’t even be close. Tonite? If you’re a Wing fan in Chicago you’re not safe and that’s just the way it is.
Because everyone knows what this game means. Wings win and this bitch is done. Over. Hawks? Not so much.
Half a dozen to a dozen.

on the Kronwall hit, girlfriend wants to know if they call that a “foul”. wrong sport, babe.
and she asked me to try to be a little quieter. um, no. I’m sure the neighbors appreciate the play by play.
benefit of the doubt because the puck was in doubt? it was RIGHT THERE IN HIS FEET. last time I checked, touched or not is not the standard in this league. if it were, then every player would just let it go by instead of playing it so when they get checked it’s interference.

I’m not kidding, I turned the game off. I’m not putting myself through this tonight. I’ve seen bullshit before, but this takes the f.u.c.k.ing cake. I’ll check the score later, but I’m not letting this ruin the rest of my night.

At first, I was happy to see Kronner getting into some open-ice hits.
Then, when he was called for the penalty, I was rooting for Havlat to get another concussion and be out for the next two games.
I’m not evil… I hope.

Eff this....Uncle Mike should go ahead and take the game out of the refs hands by only putting 4 players on the ice for the rest of the game.....If the refs send a Wing to the box, Mike sends a guy in , to keep his four players on the ice.

Wow, Versus calls it a legal hit. I’m shocked. Where were the two tripping calls on the Hawks? The officiating is making me very angry in this game.
Thank goodness Havlat got up and off the ice on his own. I hate to see players injured. Wicked hit and I’m sorry he got hurt but it was not interference. If they suspend Kronner after they didn’t suspend Brown, this league is seriously &^%%.

Just when you think it cant get any worse in this league. Emotional Red Wings fan aside, what the *#$%@& do they want? Just a bunch of shit. For all of you jumping off the ship because of a shitty period for the wings you clearly havent been watching this year. Its typical to get screwed by the refs and fall behind by a couple early, but look out for the wings. They start slow get screwed a bit, kill off some major penalty time. Big Mo is shifting. Stay tuned

Hope Chelios is ready to go because Kronwall sure as frack isn’t going to play Sunday. Does anyone with half a brain think we’re not going to get jobbed by the League for this? Everybody agrees it wasn’t dirty, which means the NHL will throw the book at him.
I’m pissed about that, but I’m more pissed about the non-call on the Zetterberg trip on the big kill. He came this close to breaking his neck on the endboards because of that shit. O’Halloran and Jackson need to get their heads out of eachother’s colons.

I think chris has the right idea. Between the lack of killer instinct by the wings in the opening minutes and the BS officiating, this game is the perfect ending to my crappy day. Craptastic is what it is.

Love the rolling picks the Hawks are running in the corners that aren’t being called. A couple have lead directly to scoring chances on the rotation.
I guess the refs are the only ones not “seeing” it.

I’m frustrated because my only options are to complain or to stop watching hockey. I can’t even complain to the people who deserve to hear it. Complaint emails to NHL.com get read by some intern and summarily ignored. The league continuously ignores questions from the media regarding the questionable officiating. So my other option is to stop watching the sport I love because it’s run by monsters? What a catch-22 that is.
