Gettin’ Your Share?  No? I Guess A Game 3 Live Blog Will Have To Suffice

Every once in a while, at Game 2, a small but vocal band of Hawk fans made their presence felt.  They were in one of those overhang deals, kind of a private box in the 202 section.  They’d pick and choose their spots and yell it in unison.

“Detroit sucks.”

Idiots in the crowd got angry. They swore and pointed.  A few drank some more and yelled more bad things at those people.  The Hawk fans laughed and taunted the idiots.

But when Dan Cleary scored to give the Wings a 2-1 lead, something strange happened.  Two entire sections, hundreds of people turned at once, peered up at the Hawk fan box and waved.  All at once waving.  It was awesome.

And I’ll tell you this, no matter how much you hate the Hawk fans…those guys handled it well.  They laughed along with us and took it.  And when Sammy pooped in a box to end it, those guys shook a few hands before they left.  Pretty cool.

Tonite?  It won’t even be close.  Tonite?  If you’re a Wing fan in Chicago you’re not safe and that’s just the way it is.

Because everyone knows what this game means.  Wings win and this bitch is done.  Over.  Hawks?  Not so much.

Half a dozen to a dozen.

It’s a Live Blog bitches.

Alright, no more bones about it.  We retire Seger too.  Lightfoot the rest of the way.  He has won us almost every game.

The tea leaves are confusing this morning.

The optimist would say that the Wings got shafted by the Ref’s and had no business getting to OT in the 1st place, ‘Bulin was yanked, Havlat may be out (literally), and the ‘Hawks collapsed and damn near blew a three goal lead.  I got the sense several times last night that the ‘Hawks were extremely tight.

The pessimist might point out that the Game 2 was also an OT game, and DET “stole” that one, the ‘Hawks could be up 2-1 = scarry.

DET have not scored the 1st goal in any of the three games this series == HELLO, start the friggin game on time.  Of course killing 7 straight mins of penalty to end the 1st takes some wind out of the sails.

Maybe, the Kronner incident will stoke the DET ire; the NHL is out to get them sort of thing.  Hell, it seems like they could use a rallying point.

would have be sweet to be up 3-0, but it is never easy.

The league already notified Babs that Kronner won’t be suspended.

OH, where did you find this?  All my sources say it’s still up in the air.

Something Babs said in the post-game presser seemed to suggest that, but that got thrown out the window when someone specifically asked him about it and if he thinks he’ll get suspended and Babs went off on that notion.

“After that hit, it kind of sparked guys,” said Hawks right wing Troy Brouwer. “We felt it was kind of a dirty hit, so that means we’re going to start giving it to their star players and making it tough for them to play as well.

“It’s one of those things where Marty’s in a vulnerable situation - head down, kind of blindsided a little bit. Those kind of hits are tough. It’s almost like a hit from behind - in the same category as that.”

1. In what bizarre, backwards universe is a hit when someone’s head is down the same as a hit from behind?

2. LOL @ Chicago. Go ahead, try to make this dirty. Try to be like the Ducks. See how well that worked out for them when they were made for it and you aren’t.

It was so dirty that Chicago spent the rest of the game seeking out Wings players with their heads down, especially in the third.

Yup, nothing to see here.
