Pavel Datsyuk, as expected, will play tonight, after sitting out practice Wednesday due to a sore foot, the result of blocking a shot in Tuesday’s game.
And, no matter what I say to intro this or react to it, I’ll be the gamewrecker. I take full responsibility.
For the Oilers, forward Mike Comrie and defenseman Lubomir Visnovky are out becuase of the flu. Defensemen Sheldon Souray and Steve Staois are out due to concussions. Defenseman Ladislav Smid, who had the H1N1 virus, will play, as will forwards Gilbert Brule and Alex Hemsky, who have been hampered by the flu.
The Oilers have been shut out in their last two games—3-0 vs. Colorado and 2-0 vs. Vancouver—and have lost three in a row.
No way we win this game tonite. No frigging way.
