I don’t want to see the Wings lose another one, but I won’t lose any sleep if they do.
The last goal the Wings scored (that counted) was Drew Miller skating with Zetterman, so Mikey replaced him with Leino for the next game…..WTF

I have no use for Leino. He came to this team as a star from Finland. He is supposed to be able to handle the pressure. I’m still waiting.

Actually, I almost kind of hope they hold off until the first period is over. It might be interesting to see history in the making. Twisted, I know - but it would be historic.

I’m not sure.
If they are going to lose the game 3-1 or something, I would rather they hold off until they set the record scoring drought instead of scoring in the first five minutes and then giving up a hat trick to T. J. Oshie or something.
If they are going to short-circuit a historically long scoring drought, then they damn well better win the game to make up for depriving fans of history.

Just in case anyone is curious, I calculated how long the Wings have to go scoreless in this game to match their longest scoring droughts.
Currently at 153:22.
With another 8:53, they will match the fourth longest in franchise history (Dec 1953).
With another 19:30, they will match the third longest (Jan - Feb, 1969).
(So with one more scoreless period, they will have the third longest scoring drought in Red Wings history.)
Another 44:36 will tie the second longest drought (March, 1977).
Another 56:01 will tie the longest scoring drought in their history, from November of 1954. My parents were eight years old then.
