No one on Boyes. If Holmstrom was on any other team we would let him do whatever he wanted.

I’m going to say it. I feel bad for Howard. Another strong game that’s being wasted by a lack of help in front.

It seems like every other game tonight went to a shootout tied 3-3.  The Wings broke their long scoring drought - maybe they have another goal in them this game.

Wait, Jimmah didn’t give up a rebound there.  Are we sure it’s still him in net?

I missed Boyes’ goal, was it legit or a softie?

Is it really still fashionable to bag on Howard? He’s been better than Ozzie of late.

I for one am happy to see him playing well.

Cainer, Boyes was left all alone at the side of the net. Jimmah had no chance.

You aren’t the only one.  He waited a long time for his opportunity, and I’m glad to see him playing well and learning.

Legit, but a massive breakdown from our D.  Jimmah had no chance.

I was legitimately surprised to see him not give up a rebound there.  He has been playing well lately for sure, but he still has serious issues with rebound control.

Posted by stayouttamalibu from Temporarily in Tempe, AZ on 11/28/09 at 10:19 PM ET

He does, but maybe he’s getting better with it.

He also plays a bit of different “style” than Ozzie or Conks, in that he directs pucks to areas rather than trying to suck everything in. It was an in vogue style a few years ago and your defense has to be able to turn and use those for the breakout. Of course it doesn’t always go where the goalie wants it either witch can make life interesting.

Could be worse.  4-0 Canucks in Vancouver, with still more than half the first period to go.

And the Oilers are putting in their rookie backup for his first NHL appearance.  Good luck, kiddo.
