I guess it goes without saying that should the Wings take a 2-0 lead? You can start thinking about the lame excuses you’ll use to get out of work for the parade. Pens win? Little Gary rejoices and we’ve got ourselves a series.
Reminder: Predict the game’s first scorer in the comments. First one to get it right gets a program from Game 1.

Right back atcha, Okie. I’m in Kentucky just south of Cincy, and let’s just say there’s not a lot of Cup fever here. Although, I do have to have to say that our ECHL team the Cincinnati Cyclones are in their Cup finals right now. But me and the other 5 hockey fans in town are about the only ones who know it.

All that stuff Chief writes about this being like the 1998 team is right on. They are in some kind of zone. Amazing. Also, I think that the unsung hero of these playoffs is Filpulla. The dude shuts down opposing lines and chips in points quite often. Quietely, he’s an outstanding second line center.

It looks like a green highlighter exploded!
Penguins look pretty good when Detroit is outnumbered. Other than that, they don’t look much better than in game one. At least then they were tight and obviously nervous, but they were working together as a team - now they don’t seem to be even in the same chapter, let alone on the same proverbial page.
Andrew - I don’t accept your assertion that it can ever be too early for caffeine! Then again, I drink diet Mountain Dew with breakfast, so I’m not the best person to ask regarding that matter.

We are in great shape. Gary’s Baby Boy is about to throw a tantrum as is Malkin. I promise not to bring up refs anymore, so how is it Lidstrom could get crosschecked like crazy and then Cleary gets called for “hooking”. These make up calls remind me of bad video games that let all trailing teams catch up for being too far down.

Fair enough. I have whiskey on my cornflakes, Baroque, so I’m probably not the best person to ask about alcoholism. But I do know that I have to go back to bed after the game. With a loss, I’m too pissed off to sleep. With a win, I’m too wired to sleep. Caffeine, and I’ll just be dead beat tomorrow at work. So I’ll just stick with my South African redbush, sitting here in a blanket like the granny I am.

Well, the CBC commentators don’t think the Red Wings are boring - they love their beautiful, perfect passing.
