...you put the Duck’s head on a block of wood. Hold it down and flick the beak for a few minutes, just to torture it. Do Ducks even have beaks? Is that how “beak” is spelled?
Then you chop it off. The whole thing. The head and the beak, beek.
This game is very important. The most important regular season game of the month so far.
So I thought we’d drink a little, and have ourselves a Live Blog.

Lost the computer feed and headed out to the big screen…. Center Ice has the game is blacked out down here!

dumb turnovers. seen 3 so far in 5 min of play. still not paying attention to detail

headed out to the big screen
I’d give up my LCD for rabbit ears if we’d play worth a $hit.
Posted by MOWingsfan19 on 12/01/08 at 08:08 PM ET
Rum,
The game is blacked out for you because you’re in the Duck’s home b-cast area. go to the channel that carries the ducks games, should be playing there.

Good pressure and lots of iron. Just keep pressing.

Like we said Gabe… one of those nights.
Huds couldn’t ring that iron any harder there

Rummy, they want you to tune into the FSW channel. I’m, once again, watching TV with the streaming audio feed in the background.

“Precipitated”...big word from Mick.
Not bad. Not a bad final ten minutes. Good energy. Good chances.

Of course he’s the hardest working Red Wing of the Month. You work that much harder having to pick yourself up off the ice after you fall on your ass.

“Where are the WIngs in the all star voting”???
Dude, right now who gives a $hit.
Then again our team D is rather similar to what one sees in an All Star game….
Posted by MOWingsfan19 on 12/01/08 at 08:13 PM ET
Biggest goat of that period? Not Stuart, the crowd. How do we put two solid minutes of pressure on them and the people in the stands sound like they’re watching a tennis match with only the occasional “ooh” or “aah”?
Posted by J.J. from Kansas on 12/01/08 at 08:13 PM ET
This team puts too much pressure on Kopecky to be physical. The guy isn’t a very good hitter, but he’s making a much bigger impact on a line with players who can actually score.
Not a bad period, but we could be better. They can build on it for the second.

All I have on the satellite is the Center Ice and football package. None of the regular junk…....FSW is not available. I used to call Direct TV last year and bitch a lot and they would patch me thru….I’ll check again
Posted by Rumbear from Top O da Hasek, sippin rum & catchin some rays on 12/01/08 at 08:15 PM ET
I also forgot to mention that Meech brings absolutely nothing while he is a forward.
Can’t we get Leino up here?
Posted by Tyler from Arizona on 12/01/08 at 08:16 PM ET
I can’t remember a time when I’ve seen a Draper slapshot off the rush that didn’t go straight into the crest.
The ‘Draper rib shot”
I heard a HNIC play by play man accuse a BUF player of taking a ‘Draper shot’ last year.

While bitching will make you feel better… watching this team leaves you far more frustrated once getting the tube hooked up.

“You won’t see another goalie as wide across the chest”—Murph
that’s because Giguire is still the biggest cheater in the league when it comes to pad size…without them, he’s a tier C goalie.

You be nice, Chief….

Check this out Tyler. From Red Wings Central today:
The lack of production from forward Ville Leino (Grand Rapids, AHL) is cause for concern. Leino doesn’t have a point in three contests; doesn’t have a goal since Oct. 25; and has just five assists in his past 10 games.

WHO THE HELL VOTES FOR RAFFI THIS YEAR?
straight ticket voters.

Dammit. Sorry Tony.

Raffi does lead Red Wings D-Men in points this year. I’m wondering how Ozzie is #2 in goalie voting.
Posted by J.J. from Kansas on 12/01/08 at 08:23 PM ET
Howdy bitches, I was just saying the same thing about Draper to the wife. I’ll give him points for energy, but a solid F- for creativity.

Look, I had OHSA inspectors show up at my business this morning, dealt with opposition attorneys in a lawsuit this afternoon, made the mistake of checking the stock market and watching another years worth of retirement savings vaporized in 4 hours, so I come over here for some friggin’ amusement and a good laugh, and it’s like a goddamn funeral!
Didn’t we lose , ummmmm, TEN games in a row when Lidstrom was out last year? As I recall, we all went home with a happy ending. Sheesh….
Posted by dougie on 12/01/08 at 08:29 PM ET
what’s the deal with Flip this season? he has been very unimpressive.
Posted by Animal Drew from A Nightmare on Helm Street on 12/01/08 at 08:29 PM ET
Hoss n Pavel each on one side of Z jump over the boards. Why not send the one in the middle over with them for a period… really…?
Posted by MOWingsfan19 on 12/01/08 at 08:30 PM ET
another quality shot by Sammy…***gag***
Posted by Animal Drew from A Nightmare on Helm Street on 12/01/08 at 08:34 PM ET
Score doesn’t indicate, but the Red Wings are really out there playing a heck of a game to this point.
Posted by J.J. from Kansas on 12/01/08 at 08:34 PM ET
Ah, that memory warms my soul a tad Mick n Ken…. the hit on Stevie… tearing the ACL for Sasquatch…. better than a hug right there.
Posted by MOWingsfan19 on 12/01/08 at 08:35 PM ET
nothing like that cement head going after our wounded captain and ending up injured for the remainder of the playoffs…kharma bitches!
Posted by Animal Drew from A Nightmare on Helm Street on 12/01/08 at 08:37 PM ET
I’d at least like to know that the fans who gave that stick back at least tried to break it first.
Posted by J.J. from Kansas on 12/01/08 at 08:37 PM ET
We need a Kronwallian flying elbow.

Meech is playing a strong game. We’re hustling at least.
Posted by Osrt on 12/01/08 at 08:38 PM ET
but the Red Wings are really out there playing a heck of a game to this point.
If they actually get rewarded for this play, I’ll be happy. For a few minutes.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 12/01/08 at 08:38 PM ET
Aww, give Pronger a break, the guy must spend a fortune on gloves; what, with his knuckles always dragging everywhere.
Posted by J.J. from Kansas on 12/01/08 at 08:38 PM ET
Datsyuk nearly had a breakaway, didn’t try a shot. Franzen pretty much had a breakaway, tried a cute move even though he has one of the best shots in the league.
Posted by Tyler from Arizona on 12/01/08 at 08:39 PM ET
Ducks feed just showed a graphic of free agents Hossa, Z and Mule with the headline “Red Wings Ready to Fly?” Pricks.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 12/01/08 at 08:40 PM ET
Alright, let’s do something with this.
Posted by clemshady from Greenwood, SC on 12/01/08 at 08:40 PM ET
did mick just say that pronger has learned NOT to do all of the things that they just showed him doing…this season?!?!
Posted by Animal Drew from A Nightmare on Helm Street on 12/01/08 at 08:40 PM ET
Just deleted about 5 posts here ...trying to be nice…as we need not be patted on the ass playing well with one goal deficit. This is how we need to play with a lead ferchristsakes.
