And we can start with this biotch.
Not sure if Sportsnet is referring to last night’s rebuttal or if another has taken place this morning. Kenny, you stubborn bastard you.
Marian Hossa has turned down yet another long-term deal to try his luck as a mercenary on the free agent market. The Red Wings were prepared to keep Hossa in Hockeytown for 10 years.
Anyway, it’s a Live Blog. And we’ll even open it up to you Pens fans who want to take a break from peeking around the corner to see who’s going to steal your Cup.

Khabibulin went to the Oilers.
Sorry to see Hossa go but realistically, I didn’t see how the Wings could keep him. Just glad I got to see him play in a Wings uniform. Just wish he had actually showed up in the SCF. Sigh.

Maybe Toews will give the wings a discount if they let him wear #19
. All things considered, I’d like Keith as a wing most, especially if they’re using Lidstrom cap money to sign him.

The Wings have to do something in the market - Do they now keep Sammy and Hudler? Or just Huds and pick up someone else? Do they approach a D at all?

About Abel to Yzerman
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that. Kane and Toews are not Malkin, Crosby, Zetterberg or Datsyuk (spelling). I would expect that Toews signs for somewhere in the neighborhood of J. Staal’s 4 million a year, and Kane maybe slightly higher. Between Hossa, Kane, and Toews I would say the cap hit should be in the 15-17 million dollar range.
